Young Justice/Teen Titans (OOC)

That puts you up on me. My knowledge of New 52 is limited to Wonderwoman has/had pants and I watched Son of Batman. And I don't necessarily support domestic abuse (I feel more sexist saying I wouldn't hit Batgirl, Catwoman or Talia A'Ghul than saying I would.

Anyway lets just say that if Talia did that to me. I'd strangle her, take her to a Lazarus Pit, Drown her, return her to the Lazarus pit. Stab her. Return her to the Lazarus Pit. And then I'd get creative.

Here's your son k'thnx bai?!

I'll post when I get home from work in the morning. That one will assume everyone is present and Nightwing will explain the mission. Then my third post will bring us to Cadmus and drop us right into the massive battles Sean loves :).

Honestly, maybe it was getting to shine as Ben but I much prefer the attack on the party. IT also lets us skip past the hello my name is stage that I'm not a fan of. I also hate profiles and hope you understand that it is a fairly big concession on my part to write a even the half ass profile that I did.

Also do we have super hero fiction? I threw in a shout out to the X-men and Avenger/Fantastic 4/Tony Stark. Holy shit. I was actually thinking Fantastic 4 when I wrote it but assuming Avengers tower isn't Stark Towers that's three entirely separate super hero towers in NY.

I was going with the Static Shock idea (which backfired a little when he got absorbed into DC later) but they used to make references to Batman and Superman as heroes. However the Walking Dead makes it terribly clear that not only do they not have zombie fiction (hense the terms Biters, Walkers, Geeks, etc) but that's also supposed to be the reason they make so many amateur mistakes.

So tempted... Assuming I was allowed on board. But man... running Star City is already pretty tight on time. Hrm. Mayhaps I need to think more. But this sounds like amazing fun and I hereby ask preliminary permission to scratch something up?

I haven't read the new IC posts yet, but I think whatever references you made were fine. We can say superhero fiction was inspired by the JSA. DC Comics came out with their widely successful Justice Guild of America series, and Marvel came out with their titles in a similar manner to our real world.

And Luna, you are more than welcome to join :).

Wait. What happened? Domestic abuse?

You may be giving me too much credit for my 'knowledge' of DC 52 action. Heh.

I think that third picture of Natasha/Steel in her full 'costume'...looks completely BAD ASS!

Is she in the 52 Universe too? Forgive my asking since I know not....(I haven't had much reading of her uncle's exploits....since pre-52 days!)

Thank you, dear.

I don't believe she's shown up in the New 52 yet, though I could be wrong-- I haven't been overmuch impressed by those books so I haven't kept up all that much. I do think that John Henry and possibly Natasha as well will be appearing in the upcoming "Convergence" storyline, about which I am very excited!

Well yes, but I would think Steelworks would have lawyers crawling all over it filing labor violations if they employed children to build machinery :p.

It's more along the lines of building a car or motorcycle in your own garage at home. Except over and over again 'till you get it right-- that's the sort of thing Natasha did for practice before she moved on to working on armors.

And just imagine how strong you'd get designing and building prototype engines for alternative-fuel vehicles, or flying cars, and hauling those engines into place on a chain pulley, that sort of thing.

It's a tuition-paid self-directed learning experience in order to advance the thinking of mankind. Again, kind of like Xavier's, except instead of a Danger Room they've got the ultra-high-tech equivalent of a blacksmith's shop.

Who did you have in mind to play?

See, that there is the other question. In the past I have run a fair few Titan/YJ characters, at least for cameos. So, that said, I think that I am going to whip out the old DC Universe Encyclopedia.

Also, Jeffinator, I had a thought that I would throw out there. In regard to Magic(k) powers, there is a fairly in depth explanation in at least one of the several continuities of the DCU.

Before humans, Earth was barren of intelligent life. The Gods of New Genesis decided that they would come to Earth, as did many other advanced species, including Martians, Thanagarians, etc. and they messed about with the genetics of the species that were here. Creating Homo Sapiens Sapiens, Homo Sapiens Idaltu, and Homo Sapiens Magus, among other extinct off shoots. It is this genetic manipulation that also gave rise to the metagene.

As such, Magic users are just a more specialized version of metahuman. They require certain structures to channel their powers. Be it speaking backwords, arcane gestures and chants, etc. Anyway, just thought I would bring it up. Basically, it would be potentially possible that someone was distant descendant of one of these extinct/endangered subspecies.

Also, in the DCU, there is also a thing where Magic comes and goes in cycles. While there are always a few beings capable of magic, like the Zatanna/Constantine/Shazam/Fates, but then there are ages where things align just right and MAGICK is widespread and popping up all over. This is talked about in great detail in the Seven Soliders by Grant Morrison.

Anyway, that there is one of my favorite books. The way it explains the cosmology of the DCU, the way it, along with Books of Magic and several others, tie in all the realms and gods, and you name it. It makes it so that everything from Sandman and The Endless, to Ted Kord and Speedy all make sense existing in the same universe.

I don't like the scale of magic in DC, though. I don't see how speaking backwards could possibly make magic come to life -- like magic knows what your saying, but will only respond if you speak backwards. I think it is much more realistic to say magic is more like a sixth sense, where you literally feel the magic energies and can flex them as if they were extra hands. That's why I created the meteor shower and explained it as a radiation that mutates their brain to allow them to control magic energies similar to their limbs.

It's an alternate origin for Homo Magi.

I can dig it.

I'm still getting used to it, but I can dig it.

Gonna try again to get into Raven's head tonight, Jeff. If I can't come to an understanding with her, I'll let you know.

Okay, cool.

And Nubian... I must confess, I'm a little annoyed you took it upon yourself to alter what version of Count Vertigo I was using. I deliberately portrayed him as merely a Los Angeles-based drug dealer, but you retconned my post to make him a European noble. I understand that's what he was in the comics, but this RP exists in its own universe. What's the point in me even posting anything about characters if you're just going to take it upon yourself to retcon it and alter the timeline? LOL. Don't let it happen again. Are we clear?

I understand your frustration. I probably should have consulted you about that beforehand, but I figured for some reason that the character would remain unchanged from source. I did follow your post btw, that's what gave me the impetus to "run" with him in the first place. My bad. I'll be more careful about this sort of thing going forward.

I did respond kind of harshly. I had just woken up and was checking Lit before getting ready for work, saw your post, and it kinda pissed me off, so I acted like a jerk, haha. I was pissed that you disregarded the part where Nightwing says the Count is a joke, and that he gets the Vertigo from Project Cadmus. I was partially going with the Count seen in the Arrow tv show. What pissed me off even more than changing him from an L.A. drug dealer to a European drug dealer was that you hinted that the Vertigo drug actually came from Vlatvala and needed transport overseas when I clearly said it comes from Cadmus. It just seemed you completely disregarded my post and instead presented an alternate version of the Count and the drug.

Okay, so we have Nightwing, Tigress, Star, Steel, and Beast Boy in the warehouse right now. Kaldur'ahm is off doing his own thing, M'gann hasn't come to Los Angeles yet, Jinx is still in New Orleans, Remec's Hawkman-esque character hasn't appeared yet, Hal Jordan is currently at Edwards Air Force Base, Superboy is still trapped at Cadmus, and Ben Ten hasn't decided yet if he wants to shift realities again... Did I miss anyone?

Full disclosure: I've made Nubian's gaffe so many times in the past I'm surprised some people still write with me. But that's how I've learned, the hard way, how it can be so hurtful to people's feelings, disregarding their continuity at all.

So at the risk of meddling or sounding like a hypocrite, maybe Nubian could edit his post to reflect the current reality? Shipping Vertigo out from California for "The Count" instead of for the nobleman version?

Then it would be ultimately no harm no foul, at least hopefully.

Jeffinator, working today but mulling some things over will try to get an idea pmed to you tonight or tomorrow

I'm over it now. I was only upset for a short time. I do lash out when people do these kinds of things because it has happened to me so many times over the years. It seems every single RP I do, someone always does something that makes me go "WTF?!?!!?" LOL. I don't mind if people have ideas for future posts and want to discuss them with me, I just hate when they contradict what's already been posted.

Nubian, could you edit your post? Maybe have him transporting something for someone other than the Count? How about this: Kaldur is instead contacted by Bane about transporting Venom from Santa Prisca to the United States. In this universe, we can say Bane and his Venom drug have not yet made an appearance, and Bane will become a nemesis to our Titans instead of Batman. During our first mission at Cadmus, the Titans can discover the facility is under the command of General Wade Eiling, and through him they learn of a network of corrupt government officials dabbling in illegal operations. This ultimately sees the Titans on a mission to Santa Prisca and it is there we first encounter Bane, Kaldur'ahm, and Black Manta. Sound good to you guys?

Is all fine with me. All I got to do is clean up the image and make a few minor edits, tell me if it's alright with you.

For all my being well-versed in Bat-lore, I had no idea what Bane's real name was.

I have learned something!
