Ohio cop indicted for fatal shootings of speeding suspect and his neighbor

An Ohio police officer has been simultaneously indicted in the fatal shooting of a speeding suspect in March and in the deadly shooting of a neighbor last week, according to state officials.

A special grand jury charged the officer, Joel Jenkins, with murder for the shooting of Robert Rooker in March and with manslaughter in the apparently accidental shooting in the head of Jason Brady last Thursday. Jenkins was fired this week from his job as a Pike County sheriff’s deputy.

Jenkins was also charged with reckless homicide over the death of Rooker, 26, who was shot after fleeing at high-speed when he was caught speeding. Authorities alleged that Rooker eventually rammed two police vehicles.

In the off-duty shooting of Brady, 40, the former deputy was indicted for involuntary manslaughter as well as reckless homicide and tampering with evidence, according to Dan Tierney, a spokesman for the Ohio attorney general. Jenkins has said he fired the gun inadvertently while showing it to his neighbour. Police said he had been drinking.

WATCH: Alabama cops hold man down and beat him following car chase for pot possession

An Alabama police chief is defending his officers after a video was released showing five officers holding a man down while a sixth repeatedly punched him in the head following a car chase after he was found to have marijuana in his car.

In video taken from a casino balcony, Deffenbaugh cannot be seen as he is held down by five cops while one punched him over and over as another officer observes.

Billingsley said he was willing to talk to the man who recorded the video — identified as Montgomery resident Steven Tucker — since he was a witness.
-
“I think everything we did was above-board, but we’re going to talk to him since he was a witness and make sure we have everything covered,” Billingsley said before adding “We have not received any complaint from the individual that we put in jail.”

Yeah talking to the witness to make sure he supports the story is what cops do.:)

Missouri police chief resigns after caging family’s lost puppy at a gun range and shooting it

Police Chief Andrew Spencer resigned this week after it was revealed that he shot and killed an innocent dog that was in a cage and meant no one any harm. To make matters even worse, he took the puppy to a firing range and killed it there because he did not want to deal with finding its home.

Spencer found the dog and managed to get it into a cage using a catcher pole. He then wrote in his report that he had planned to take the dog to a shelter where it would be “destroyed,” but then he got another call about a car accident so he decided to do it himself.

Off-duty NYC cop attacks lesbian couple for no reason — and then lies to get them arrested

Brooklyn woman said a New York City police officer hurled homophobic slurs before attacking her and falsely arresting her.

Stephanie Dorceant and her ex-girlfriend filed a federal lawsuit Monday, two weeks after the 29-year-old was cleared of all charges in the case, reported the Huffington Post.

Dorceant and her then-girlfriend were walking back to their apartment in the Flatbush neighborhood when an off-duty officer, Salvator Aquino, bumped her from behind.

She asked Aquino, who was not in uniform, whether he was “alright” — but her suit accuses him of responding with an obscenity and homophobic slur.

“Mind your own business you f*cking dyke,” the officer allegedly told her.

Dorceant said Aquino then punched her in the face several times, chocked her and continued to use anti-LGBT slur.

“I truly thought I was going to die,” said Dorceant, a journalist and filmmaker. “I could not breathe. The only way I could get him to stop attacking me and my girlfriend was to bite him.”

Other officers responded to the attack, but they arrested Dorceant and her girlfriend instead of helping them.

NYC PD, a nest of vipers?

Jack Luis your anti-police posts sicken me.

I feel you pain, but it is not meant to be anti-police but anti-assholes. There are lots of good policemen/women who need to do something about the assholes on the force.

They do. Most cops are given the benefit of the doubt, but like crooked politicians there are inherent advantages to their positions. The media loves to try cops as soon as they can in the media. In America there is something called a trial. We are all entitled to one, even seemingly guilty cops. Some of the police actions are bad judgment, some are indefensible. Standards are being lowered throughout our nation so nobody feels bad about themselves and everyone gets a trophy. This feel good decision has consequences for every walk of life and profession.

Kansas cops demolish single mom’s home and destroy children’s Christmas tree — by mistake

On Tuesday, Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves and his heroic team of militarized storm troopers descended on the home of a single mom and her four kids. Upon removing the unnamed mother and her four children from the house, police entered into a 20-hour-long standoff — with the empty house.

According to Sheriff Groves, police were looking for Doug Alexius, a suspect wanted on a misdemeanor count of assaulting a law enforcement officer and another drug-related charge. Upon entering the home, the team used a ‘hi-tech’ and expensive infrared camera that showed them Alexius was hiding in the attic. Incorrectly believing Alexius was in the attic, they backed out and a 20-hour long standoff ensued.

“Time is on our side,” the sheriff said during their heated standoff with an empty house. “We have the luxury of being able to rotate officers out. At some point, he’s going to have to come out of there.”

After not breaking things or killing anyone for 19 hours, the officers became restless, said to hell with the Sheriff’s strategy of waiting for him to come out, and proceeded to storm the home.

A SWAT truck with a battering ram attached was used to poke holes and tear apart the house in an attempt to drive the nonexistent suspect out. As deputies became unable to find him, they began taking their frustration out on couches, beds, lamps, clothing, toys, and even the family’s Christmas tree was ripped through a window and smashed to bits.

Winning hearts and minds everywhere, Merry fucken' Christmas.

Uh Oh, White People, A Cop Shot A White Dude And Got Away With It

Here’s a new variation on the “Cop Gets Away With Shooting Unarmed Victim” theme: A cop in Paradise, California, will not be charged after pulling his gun and shooting an unarmed accident victim, Andrew Nicholas Thomas, 26, while Thomas was climbing out the window of his wrecked SUV. Dashcam video from Officer Patrick Feaster’s patrol car shows the wreck of Thomas’s car, which Feaster had been chasing; as Thomas tries to climb out of the wreck, which is on its side, Feaster pulls his gun and fires once, hitting Thomas, who falls back down into the wreck. The DUI rollover crash had already killed Thomas’s wife, 23-year-old Darien Ehorn, who was ejected from the wreck. Thomas survived, but was shot through two vertebrae and may end up paralyzed for life. The video of the Thanksgiving Day incident is not pleasant to watch, but we’re including it because it’s necessary to understand what a monumental fuck-up this was:

District Attorney Mike Ramsey quickly declared the shooting an “accidental discharge.” He said on Nov. 27 that the determination was made by examining the video frame by frame, KRCR reports. Ramsey said it was clear that Feaster was surprised by the gun firing.

Feaster’s “reaction on the dash cam video and his statements to protocol investigators confirm an honest belief that he did not intentionally fire his pistol,” Ramsey said in a press release.

Ramsey said on Thursday that Feaster didn’t mention the shooting until 11 minutes after backup and paramedics arrived.

Accident my ass!

What is noteworthy about this? It is well-known the cops shoot more white people than any other race.

I don't know if you watched the video, Box but the cop shot this poor bastard like he was taking out a ground squirrel and never seemed surprised that his gun went off. Also why did he draw his gun on a guy who was trying to get out of a wrecked car?

Now as for the headline, The Wonkette is sarcastic blog. I'm sure they were trying to show Caucasians that even if you're white you can be shot out of hand and the DA will figure out how to back the cop.

I believe it was you who said that cops can be equal opportunity. #All Lives Matter, right?

NYC police crush man’s testicle — but cops say he injured himself running from robbery he didn’t commit

Brooklyn man lost a testicle after police burst into an apartment seeking another man, and then repeatedly kicked his groin when he walked away from them.

Corey Green underwent emergency surgery after the incident Saturday night at a friend’s apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant, reported the New York Post.

The 32-year-old Green, who works as an exterminator, had just returned to the apartment when police came to look for a suspect who robbed a Chinese takeout worker.

Police pointed a gun at Green and ordered him to stand outside the apartment in a lineup because officers claimed he had run away from the scene of the robbery.

The victim identified another man in the lineup, and Green walked away.

His lawyer said police grabbed Green by the shoulder and neck, threw him to the ground and one officer repeatedly kicked his genitals.

He didn't ask, "Copper May I?"

Hero security guard defuses hostage situation only to be fatally shot by late arriving cops

Bobby Daniels was a peace officer by trade – a private security guard employed at CNN’s headquarters in Atlanta. When he learned that his emotionally troubled 25-year-old son Bias had suffered a breakdown and was holding a fellow security guard at gunpoint in a mobile home park in Douglasville, Bobby raced to the scene. Using the skills of persuasion and patient de-escalation upon which a private peace officer must rely, Bobby persuaded his son to relinquish his handgun and place it on the hood of a car.

Just seconds later, Daniels was fatally shot – not by his mentally ill son, but by the sheriff’s deputies who had arrived on the scene.

Merry Christmas?

Off-duty Las Vegas cop and her husband open fire on housemate they mistook for an intruder

An off-duty Las Vegas police officer and her husband shot a relative who returned home unexpectedly on Christmas night.

The officer, who was not identified, and her husband were sleeping about 11:30 p.m. Friday when the relative, who also lives at the home, returned, reported the Review-Journal.

The couple apparently thought their housemate was an intruder and opened fire on her with separate weapons.

The woman, who also was not identified, was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds but is expected to survive.

So stupid is not a crime?

WATCH: NYC cops beat up black man inside his own home for walking his dog off leash

In dramatic footage provided to the New York Daily News, a Queens man had his head repeatedly bashed into a wall and punched during a dog walking incident that escalated out of control.

According to 25-year-old college student Nicholson Gregoire, he had just exited his home to walk his 5-month-old pit bull when police noticed the dog was not on a leash.

After he was asked for his ID, Gregoire reentered his home to retrieve it only to have the police repeatedly ring his door — causing the young man’s grandfather to open the door to them. After refusing to give the cops his ID — despite his grandfather’s pleas — the two cops rushed Gregoire and tackled him, setting off a wrestling match that was recorded by Gregoire’s girlfriend.

If I were mayor of NYC, I'd ask why so many cops were diverted to deal with a leash law violation?

New Jersey cop fired for having sex in his patrol car while on duty

Killing people is okay, but Thou Shalt Not FUCK!.

PLAINFIELD -- A former police officer is appealing the city's decision to fire him last year after he admitted to having sex with several women while on duty, myCentralJersey.com reports.

The Union County Prosecutor's Office discovered Fernando Sanchez's trysts while investigating another police officer who was convicted of coercing a woman into stripping for him while he masturbated in a public parking lot, the report says.

Sanchez was never charged with a crime but received 12 departmental and administrative charges from Plainfield's police department, according to the report. His last day in the department was Sept. 22, 2015, the report said.

cops sic K-9 on infant daughter of a man they mistook for a suspect

On January 30, 2015, a health food store in Henderson called the police after a disgruntled customer, attempting to return some protein powder, allegedly threatened to rob them. The store described the suspect to police as a black male wearing a black and tan t-shirt who left in an SUV.

As police responded to the call, they quickly stopped the first person they saw, who happened to be Arturo Arenas-Alvarez. Arenas-Alvarez had just pulled up in the shopping center to do some shopping when police drew their weapons and demanded he put his hands in the air and step toward them.

Arenas-Alvarez did not appear to understand why multiple armed men were pointing their guns at him, so one officer asked him in Spanish to approach the vehicle.

Before Arenas-Alvarez makes it all the way to the vehicle, officers realized they had the wrong guy.
“That’s not him, dude. That’s not a black man in a black shirt,” one officer said to another.

The village of Bal Harbour, population 2,513, may have a tiny footprint on the northern tip of Miami Beach, but its police department had grand aspirations of going after international drug traffickers, and making a few million dollars while they were at it.

The Bal Harbour PD and the Glades County Sheriff’s Office set up a giant money laundering scheme with the purported goal of busting drug cartels and stemming the surge of drug dealing going on in the area. But it all fell apart when federal investigators and the Miami-Herald found strange things going on.

Government creates a black market of drugs and blood money through prohibition, then under the War on Drugs it grants itself the power to break the law and get involved in money laundering operations. While the professed goal is to “sting” the bad guys, government rakes in millions upon millions of dollars to further bolster its prohibition and war on drugs.

The War on Drugs is the real scheme that should be investigated.
