Your Political Compass

Come the glorious day, manning the barricades with a zimmer frame!

Woof!

and don't you think i wouldn't

when i get a cause between my teeth, there's no stopping me
it may be dentures by then, true, but the concept stands

not sure i could ever be an anarchist, never liked punk rock much

i like some nice sociable order and things working smoothly. anarchy's a bit loud, though they do have some nice fires...

None of the above

The question is based on the premise that all people fall into one of the listed options. There are many who realize that all of the above are seriously flawed and have brought agony to the human experience with their political control theories. Of course some are clearly more absurd and damaging than others. But in the end they all end up corrupt because they are founded on desires to control. Even if the original idea has merit in time a power grab will corrupt it. All of history tells this story over and over. Is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result a sign of wisdom or insanity?

It needs to be a three-axis placing with political octants.
To be valid, that it...

Old ground...

You raised some interesting points.

I had a look at the first page and there were a few questions that simply couldn't be tackled the way they asked you to, and needed more ellaborationL

"1. The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
2. No one chooses his or her country of birth, so it’s foolish to be proud of it."
Strongly disagree / Disagree / Agree / Strongly agree

They appeared to stir you in the directions that their author wanted.

It's like a push poll in that way... ;) ;)

Yes.
And I don't know for others, but for me it was like a self-fullfilling prophecy. Or bias whatever they call it.
I knew where I didn't want to score (the upper quadrant), so I had the tendency to be disingenuine with myself, and post better answers.

It's a fun thing to do, but it raises the question of how ethical or biased all these Gallup tests or social psychology stats and research results are.

They can be made so, it is a science, but all too often,
in our world Science is superseded by political science.

Even if the questions were completely unbiased,
you would still not get sufficient grouping which is why I prefer a three-axis system.

If the three axises were something like:

x). religious/faith/belief
y). government type/scope/power
z). Capital distribution/management

[all rated from strong to weak leanings; devout to atheist, strong single leader to anarchist, to government fiat to decentralized currency, for example.]

An anarchist would generally fall into an octant of negative x, y and z, but some anarchists are religious anarchists, so they would end up in a differing octant where as with one- and two-axis groupings, they get lumped together.
