DAY 9: A song that makes you want to have sex

I've got a 4 hour play list of songs to bang to. This one was picked because it just seems like a good Makeout song, and I'm in the mood for some good old fashioned heavy petting. Besides, a good makeout sesh usually leads to explosive orgasms & great sex, right?

Frank Zappa - Stick it out

Is that in German? Who is singing? Hmmm . . . never heard that done, not that it surprises me. I was a big FZ fan. I saw him in person several times over the years and have since seen Dweezil and some of his band member's projects.

Many of FZ's songs told great stories. He was a master story teller. Titties & Beer came up on my playlist over the weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. His Live at the Fillmore East 1971 album is one big epic story. Fabulous artist and perfect choice for this question.

Day 10: A song you like that tells a story

I gotta be honest, the story I hear is more likely to be in the music than the lyrics. It's like the part of my brain that understands words just shuts down when I listen to music. I don't know why certain songs make me listen to the words from the get go, but it does happen sometimes. This is one of those songs by one of those songwriters who makes me listen fully.

Day 7: A song that makes you feel energized

So many ways to go here but there is one song that never fails to get me on my feet and jumping around. The lyrics/meaning may not be consistent with that but this song just pumps me up.

Day 8: A song you like that's used in a movie

If you are going, you should go big! It doesn't get much bigger than an Academy Award Nominee

Good Will Hunting should have won Best Picture and this should have also taken home the Oscar.

Day 11: A Song That Makes You Cry

Every song does, at some point... but one hits me EVERY time...
Perfect Circle - R.E.M.
It's not actually sad, it's from the era of "what the hell is he singing" Stipe, but it's the feel... it sounds crepuscular, the day fading on a summer evening, low light, golden, long shadows and the feeling of something amazing slipping away and never to e repeated.
Oh yeah, the drummer wrote it... how good were they!

Fairport Convention: Who knows where the time goes

This has been covered by lots of artists. This is the original writer; Sandy Denny

Have you read Richard Thompson's book? It is very good and funny. Doesn't give much away about some things, but well worth checking out.
