Day 23: A song you love that's an opening track of an album
this entire album is essentially the sound track to Lit "situation-ships"
🎶 You felt good, for a bad decision 🎶
Felt Good About You (till I didn't)-Gracie Abram

Day 24: A song with lyrics you love
I know that I've shared this song before, because the lyrics are almost too close to me for comfort

I've got thick skin and an elastic heart
But your blade it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard
I may snap and I move fast
But you won't see me fall apart
'Cause I've got an elastic heart

Day 24
This Mortal Coil - Song To The Siren

This prompt couldn't have arrived at a worse day for me. I'm absolutely full of cold and can't think as my head feels like it's stuffed with play doh. Super attractive I know.

However I've loved this song for years and it's never far from conscious thought. Originally written by Tim Buckley of course but the music here just makes the lyrics almost ethereal.

Day 24: A song with lyrics you love

Us - Regina Spektor

We wear our scarves just like a noose
But not 'cause we want eternal sleep
And though our parts are slightly used
New ones are slave labor you can keep

We're living in a den of thieves
Rummaging for answers in the pages
We're living in a den of thieves
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious

Bob Dylan, excellent song writer, I love most of the covers of his music. However, I just don't like his voice. It's shaped weird, has strange dips & flares. Voices should flow, but his creates an anxiety, a weird uncomfortable anxiety, in my field of vision. It's as though he's a bunch of cylinders, meant to be bound by gravity, but instead are floating in an unpredictable way, at once crashing into each there and yet floating too far apart. I know this makes no sense to people without chromesthesia, but Dylan fans are just sure I haven't heard the right song, that I'll love him eventually, when the truth is that I need a Xanax if forced to listen to him for any extended amount of time.
You like who you like. My wife doesn’t like his voice either but loves his songs.

Day 24: A song with lyrics you love

Furnace Room Lullaby - Neko Case

Oh damn, do I ever luv this song!
What a powerhouse voice... and such a cool vibe she always has, as well.
But I'm a lyrical snob (lol), and it's her brilliant words that draw me in, over and over again.
Fantastic song choice! I luv this! Thank you for this one...

Bone is like marmite, but he's an incredible lyricist and a very good singer.
I'm not religious, but in a three minute song he sums up what many have felt and thought for hundreds of years

Day 25: A song you love but would be embarrassed if it started playing loudly from your laptop at a coffee shop.
That's one hell of a prompt.

This did once happen to me, on the tube. An early morning commute, half asleep, I needed a shot of energy. Something feel-goody. Little did I know that my wireless headphones weren't pairing... So when the music sounded dull and boxy, I turned it up... And up... And up...

The stares...

Out of pure shame, I got off on the next stop. Some others from the same cart got off at the same stop, so of course I couldn't just hang around on the platform like some lunatic, I had to make sure these complete strangers that I'd never see again thought that was actually my stop. So I exited the turnstiles. They did too. I kept walking. They did too. Five minutes later I was so freaking far away from the station, and with little to no idea where I was, though still about half an hour away from the office.

Turned a corner, made a bee-line for the previous station, called in sick, and went back home to wallow in self pity.

Not my best day.

Day 24: A song with lyrics you love
I’m big on lyrics, so I just spent way too long flipping through my playlist, finding song after song that I thought I might pick. Then this one popped up. Maybe someone needs to hear it tonight, or tuck it away for later use. It’s only 20 seconds long.

Just relax, my friend
You're overthinking
And even if there is a problem
There's a solution
Remember to breathe
Put your mind at ease
Soon this feeling's gonna pass
You will find relief
