Day 25: A song you love but would be embarrassed if it started playing loudly from your laptop at a coffee shop

Shum - Go_A
I LOVE this... the only reason it would be embarrassing is that it was from Eurovision, but i shared it on another thread and got. a nice comment... it is brilliant Ukrainian techno-folk and if you didn't know it was Eurovision you'd not think anything bad - it's probably only the brits that would think that anyway. I have seen the band a couple of times live too and they are brilliant.

I had a few Eurovision songs on my shortlist, too.

Day 25: A song you love but would be embarrassed if it started playing loudly from your laptop at a coffee shop

Okay, I'm never hanging out in a coffee shop, I don't even drink the stuff. And I love this song but - it is very very different from the old classic stuff I listen to and love. So to have this come blasting out around people that know me? I'd never hear the end of it.

But I really love this song (and the movie). 🥰🥰 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

LIZZO - Pink (From Barbie The Album)

Day 25: A song you love but would be embarrassed if it started playing loudly from your laptop at a coffee shop

I think I'm over feeling embarrassed for my musical tastes generally speaking. While I'd be mega uncomfortable if anything starting blaring from my laptop in public (do not perceive me please), there's one singer I love with a lot of songs that would be extra mortifying. Strangers don't need to know I'm singing I'm the throat goat in my head 😭

Kim Petras - Throat Goat

I absolutely love Kim Petras... in the privacy of my car or home. 😅

Honestly I was looking for Meatloaf’s longer song, but he gives his all to these lyrics

Love the piano intro

Special

RIP Mr Meatloaf
oh and this

What was the paradise that was revealed?

I will accept my spanking now

You will not be getting a spanking from me. I do have a withering look if that interests you. Do better.

Day 24
This Mortal Coil - Song To The Siren

This prompt couldn't have arrived at a worse day for me. I'm absolutely full of cold and can't think as my head feels like it's stuffed with play doh. Super attractive I know.

However I've loved this song for years and it's never far from conscious thought. Originally written by Tim Buckley of course but the music here just makes the lyrics almost ethereal.
I hope you're feeling more like yourself today 🩷
Day 24: A song with lyrics you love

All of it.
Especially giving fat cats a heart attack.

Uprising - Muse
Yes, yes, and yes!!!
I absolutely love Kim Petras... in the privacy of my car or home. 😅
Exactly! I don't even think I'd dare listen with headphones in public for fear of this exact scenario 😂

Day 25: A song you love but would be embarrassed if it started playing loudly from your laptop at a coffee shop
For me, the most embarrassing part of this equation is being the asshole with a laptop in the coffee shop in the first place.
"Asshole" - Denis Leary
This song is on my favorites list and has come on at some inopportune times 🤣

Day 25: A song you love but would be embarrassed if it started playing loudly from your laptop at a coffee shop

Okay, first of all, who is listening to music in a coffee shop through speakers? That's just rude.

I am pretty unashamed of most everything I listen to. And part of the prompt is that you have to like the song. So I was digging through my playlists for something so offensive it was funny. Then I found something else. Something worse. Much, much worse.

My hidden shame.

This is the most schmaltzy song ever recorded. It is horribly written, hammy, melodramatic hokum at its worst. And still, I have it in my playlist...

"Honey," Bobby Goldsboro

I wouldn’t say I “love” this song, but yeah, d be a wee bit embarrassed if it started playing loudly in public.

Day 26: A song that makes you want to fall in love.

I love being in love. That said, I am not of a mood to fall in love, so I am not of a mood to pick a song to fall in love to. Part of me wants to pick an "anti-love" song, but I try to honor to the general theme of the prompt. So this isn't a song about falling in love as much as it is about what love means. This is a rather remarkable Alanis Morissette song about how love should be. It is a crime that this was never released as a single.

You owe me nothing for giving the love that I give
You owe me nothing for caring the way that I have
I give you thanks for receiving, it's my privilege
And you owe me nothing in return
-----
This is the only kind of love, as I understand it
That there really is

It doesn't make me want to fall in love, this song makes me want to be in love.

"You Owe Me Nothing," Alanis Morissette.

(and there are no strings attached)

Day 26: A song that makes you want to fall in love.

Tinseltown In The Rain - The Blue Nile
This song makes me do many things, laugh, cry, sit in the corner and never move and dance around and scream it out. It feels like falling in love, it feels like a lot of things because it is, quite simply, one of THE greatest songs ever. The ambiguity means you can use it as a falling in or out of love song "will we always be happy go lucky?"
"all this talking is only bravado" indeed because...
"Do i love you? YES I love you."
ohhh, Tinseltown

This could fit 25 and 26! This song never fails to put a smile on my face so upbeat and happy a bit like falling in love I guess (Also definitely not a song I admit to liking!)
Now there's two of us. I feel absolutely the same about this song. I think I still have the CD single somewhere. "Hill, Faith"... Must be next to the Hives.
