Day 17: A song for listening to around a campfire/fire pit

We sell firewood so we have lots of scrap and junk that we burn in our firepit. Our friends son made us this fire pit - he is a welder and used a plasma cutter to make the leaf designs.

Suzie and I chill outside most weekend evenings, looking at stars and listening to three chord punk rock.

This is pretty typical of our fareโ€ฆ

Day 17: A song for listening to around a campfire/fire pit

As with many of these prompts, that I come up with myself and then feel immediately tortured by, I could go in so many directions! I could probably spend a whole week giving very specific scenarios for each fire and vibe. Hereโ€™s one-

Iโ€™m having a fire with a group of really good friends. No one is hammered but everyone has had a beer or two, passed around a couple joints. The conversation and laughter are flowing. Someone has a little speaker playing some chill music, not too loudly, that kind of just fades into the background like the soundtrack in a movie. I get distracted by the crackle of the fire and start to zone out a little. The music comes more into focus and I get that kind of daze, that one does when staring into the fire. Listening to the music. Listening to the fire. Watching it dance. The joyful conversations in the background.

Day 18: A song to listen to while cooking dinner

What Do I Get? - The Buzzcocks
Why? Well, it's a short song (The Buzzcocks were masters of the sub 3 min pop songs laden with harmonies) and so is good for when microwaving things (usually lunch). It was also a bonus track on a reissue of "Another Music In A Different Kitchen"
Also... why not, it's a fabulous song to sing as you make coffee.

Easy. The song has nothing to do with cooking, but it's just over 16 minutes long, which means that medium thickness salmon filets baked at 400 degrees will be perfectly done when the song ends.
"Terrapin Station" - The Grateful Dead
Perfect timing to roll and smoke a joint and have the munchies by the time the salmon is done!

Oh to be a fly on the wall watching you dance in your kitchen to this ๐Ÿ˜

Yes, I have thought about the goodies. What a throwback!

I dance only slightly better than this...

It's got to be something slightly ramshackle, lots of fun and with a big singalong chorus and today that is.

The Lost Patrol Band feat. Lisa Miskovsky - Alright

(Yeah that's Dennis Lyxzรฉn from Refused and International Noise Conspiracy with the lovely Lisa Miskovsky)

I wasn't into punk, but they were different. Just perfect pop tunes with added attitude. Such wonderful harmonies, that was what got me hooked. I was making coffee thinking about today's prompt and their name popped into my head and this song followed as the mokka pot burbled

I donโ€™t get high all that often, but I do like to do an edible once in a while after working at the farm on a Saturday nite.

Take it 1.5 hrs before dinner so I am just getting high as Iโ€™m making it and then eating it. Last time I did that, it was salmon pesto. Yummy.

Depend me on the mood, but right now, Iโ€™m feeling some good ol REAL blues (not guitar wankers, but the real thing) playing while I am preparing dinner.

A beer on the table. Maybe a little high after a day of hard work.
