🎡 Monthly Song Challenge 🎡

I’m not the season police. But, if I were…

I'm having a blah day and Christmas songs can cheer me up. But, being imprisoned at your house might do the same thing.

Day 4: A song that reminds you of another medium, like a book or painting

There's an emotion for which I do not have a word; it's like nostalgia, but for something you've never experienced. Lots of things can trigger this in me, and when it does I know I've stumbled on a game or a book that'll stick with me for a long, long time. Some times for better, some times for worse.

And some times it's both. Life Is Strange.

Love it!
This song reminds me of an 80's-esque movie. Boy, from the wrong side of the tracks. Girl, bored with the life pre-planned for her. Parents-never get it, because honestly, how could they. There's a party or something. They meet, fall in like. Too cool for love. No one understands.
Boy gets in trouble with the law, or his old man, or some other authority. Gotta get out of town. Meanwhile, uh oh! Girl's parents have forbidden her from seeing that boy. They fight. It's raining. She runs out of the house and down the street. Almost being run over by....you guessed it that Boy.
Rain pelting down, she races to the passenger side. "Take me with you!"
That's this song. You're welcome.

I was today years old when I learned that Diana Ross sang this. Any 80's kid who loved this film will instantly recognize it, and be taken back to the joy of popping in a VHS tape into the VCR.

Day 31: You can dedicate a song to someone on the thread, post a song that relates to this thread, or post a song that reminds you of the lit community (Would also love if you’d share a little about when and how you found this thread and what’s kept you here!)
I know I’m way late posting for this prompt but I wanted to make sure I expressed my love for this thread and its hostess, @morelikeasong

I’ve been posting to this thread since the very beginning (although lately I’ve been quite delinquent). I joined because MLAS started it and we were in the beginning stages of friendship with each other 🫢

It’s been my favourite thread on Lit and where I spend most of my time when I’m not posting my boobs. I’ve gotten to know new people through this thread and have become pals with a few. I don’t always read all the words but I listen to most of the songs. I’ve discovered news artists and have been blown straight back in time by some songs. I became friends with @Bry1313 because we share similar taste in music and I became friends with @SalaciousMonkey22 because we share a brain.

This thread has a good vibe and that’s because of the peeps who contribute and our gorgeous, brilliant, funny, gracious, and sexy leader.

This song is dedicated to you ❀️

Little Record Girl - Bahamas

Ok, that’s it for getting caught up. I’ll jump back into present day now. I’ll keep bringing you the Canadian content, or CanCon as we call it up here πŸ€“

Day 4: A song that reminds you of another medium, like a book or painting

Last time I was in Amsterdam I went alone to the Van Gogh museum, I had my headphones on, and a good high going. I got stuck at this painting for way too long while listening to this song on repeat. Something just clicked, not sure it if was the painting, the music or the hash, or all three. But now I can not seperate the music from the painting.

Day 5: A song for a stressful day

Cassandra Jenkins - Hard Drive
I am still blown away by this song, despite many MANY plays. the way it weaves and builds... plus her voice, so calm and soothing, despite what's going on around it. Definitely one of my favourite songs this millennium.

Great story. Must’ve been amazing!!

Day 5: A song for a stressful day

I like Jungle a lot. Their videos are full of people dancing with joy. I have never seen this video before but I’ve been hearing this song a bit on Sirius 35 and I kinda like it. They have a smooth sound.

I’ve been a bit on edge lately. Maybe it’s the time change. Maybe the election. Maybe my erection. Who knows? Super busy with my job and on our farm… Button this song makes me feel good. Mellower.

Get out and vote today.
