Waffle House is its own amazing and wonderful thing, comparing it to a diner is an insult to bothWaffle House just isn’t the same.

Waffle House is it’s own category, and I’ll be honest, I’ve been eating at them fairly regularly for the better part of 4 decades and have never had any altercations at them.https://media0.giphy.com/media/Q0Ww3CAafIs5DvXesz/giphy.gif?cid=9b38fe91eq798irnz2b4r4gfzy2uywafepyfqk7bupke6gya&ep=v1_gifs_search&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g
WaHo probably needs a different category, since you get brunch and a show![]()
I’ve lived in the south for 10ish years now, only been to Waffle House about 5 times. 2/5 of those times there were altercations lol. They were just verbal, but still very entertaining.Waffle House is it’s own category, and I’ll be honest, I’ve been eating at them fairly regularly for the better part of 4 decades and have never had any altercations at them.
That said, as a southerner, if you see a closed Waffle House, RUN. If you see a boarded up Waffle House, you’re fucked, you have lost the chance to run and had best just accept your fate.
Fortunately, I only live about 900 miles away.
Every town should have an "Awful Waffle".I’ve lived in the south for 10ish years now, only been to Waffle House about 5 times. 2/5 of those times there were altercations lol. They were just verbal, but still very entertaining.
I’ve never been to a Waffle House. But this sounds like Denny’s. Though, tbf, like 85% of the times I’ve been to Denny’s were after the bars closed and they were the only place open.I’ve lived in the south for 10ish years now, only been to Waffle House about 5 times. 2/5 of those times there were altercations lol. Denny’s was that place up north, too. Waffle House is miniature version of Denny’s with a much smaller menu, and a more classic feel in that you can see the grill and cooks and whatnot.I’ve never been to a Waffle House. Also primarily visited for being the only thing open.
In the city I grew up in, we had a classic non-chain diner that was open 24hrs. It was the BEST. So tiny, so full of love (and drunks… but the good kind).

Bar stools with BACKS. Those look so comfy. I love it.View attachment 2449488
This was the diner I used to go to with my grandma for many years. And in my 20’s and 30’s my friends and I would almost invariably end up here after the bar if we were anywhere in the neighborhood or gather here for brunch on the patio the following day. They still have my very favorite hash browns.
We almost never ate inside. Even at 2:30 am we’d usually be on the patio.Bar stools with BACKS. Those look so comfy. I love it.
I REALLY hope they put the parking brake on
You had me a “blanket fort” you kept me at “nerd”
