Congrats to AGG on a hard fought win.

@aussiegeekygal will be your hostess with the mostess beginning Feb 1st up through the 7th. I return to fuck up hosting on the 8th

A special thanks to @DannieB who was kind enough to alert me when I was posting the wrong day and who came thru with totals and the winner when I couldn't deliver on my promises. 😍 Proving a friend indeed isn't just a friend with weed. 🤣

Thanks to everyone that participated. I know this wasn't an easy challenge and you folks were amazing. Thanks also to those that chose not to join the challenge but still posted songs.
❤️
Appreciate this thread and all it takes to run it. It can’t be an easy task.

Congrats to @aussiegeekygal and all others.

Fun and challenging um… challenge.

Day 30 - A song that you used to play all the time but you haven't heard in a long time

I still adore Dido but it's been a while since I've been in the mood to listen to her...I'm definitely going to be shuffling her discography and immersing myself in the melancholy. I guess my subconscious remembered the lyrics even if I didn't because of all the songs I could have picked from her first album, this is the one I first thought of.

And I'm so lonely I don't even want to be with myself anymore
I just want to feel safe in my own skin
I just want to be happy again

Dido - Honestly Ok

I atill listen to a lot of music that I loved as a teen.

But one band that I used to love was The Doors. I thought they were so mysterious. Then I kinda thought they were pretentious. I always liked this song tho and haven’t heard it in several years.

Great choice for both band and song. I still find a handful of the songs enjoyable in a trippy way but not like I did when I was young. I never choose to play them but if they come on the radio, I get nostalgic.

During my John Denver phase. I had the album An Evening With John Denver that I basically wore out.

Day 31 - Free parking! Wild Card! Whatever you want to call it. Post a song that you want others to hear but haven't found a prompt that fits

For those of you that need direction, welcome inside my warped brain. Repost a song that you were disappointed in the reaction it got.
(I'm sure healthy people just post a song and move on and sometimes I can do that but, as a few posters can confirm, sometimes I take offense when some people don't love a song I think they should. 🤭) I'm sure many don't listen to all the songs posted but that's because you are sane.

I love Warren Zevon and think he was a brilliant writer and musician. This song is pure fun and utterly fantastic and when I posted it, it went over like a fart in church. So, one more time:

This song is amazing. Total classic. I would hearted it if I saw it.

Warren Zevon was utterly amazing. And went out with style, class and dignity.

First time I heard this song I was like “wtf is this?” I thought I’d heard it before. It sounded so familiar. Was it Sharon Tandy? Grace Slick? Dusty Springfield? Some 60s nugget that I’d never heard before?

No. It was recorded 2012 not 1968. And it was Suzi Chunk who had a one of a kind voice. So good. It’s an amazing song with a classic 60s vibe that you should hear!

More of a voice to share rather than a particular song. A beautiful voice that this world needs right now.
