This Speak needs a bartender. That babe at the top of the page has a nice pair and all, but that's kind of a waste of champagne. Tongue on tits, wine in the glass.

Tonight's drink is Tan's not yet famous Whiskey Sour:

2 ounces of Jack Daniel's. I don't really like Jack much, but the wood in it works with the sour in the juice. Trust me. Don't waste good whiskey / whisky on this.

Juice of 2-3 lemons and one lime. That should be 2.5-3 ounces ounces

1 ounce of simple syrup. I use a prepared syrup I get at the liquor store that has 12.5% alcohol.

Shake with crushed ice, strain into an old-fashioned glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.

Better make it a double...

Here's the thing: Vodka cocktails can be shaken, but more flavourful spirits should be stirred. Shaking is also going to dilute it.

Here's my Martini:

3 ounces of your favourite Gin (Tanqueray is mine).

1/2 ounce of decent Dry Vermouth. Yes I usually use Martini and Rossi, but the Lillet Blanc now made in place of Bond's choice is a similar wine that works quite well also.

Three olives . Not two. Not four. Five is right out. (And yes, the jar is beautiful)

Pour the gin and vermouth over ice in a small pitcher. STIR do not shake the ingredients for 15-20 seconds to mix it well and cool it. Strain into a Martini glass

Slip it while patting that spot under you Tuxedo* where the Walther sits comfortably, waiting for the inevitable.

None of those flavoured "Martinis" are actually Martinis. Vodka and Cranberry make a Cosmopolitan. *Make it with dry sherry and a dash of bitters and it is a Tuxedo.

You are clearly a man who knows his way around a cocktail, but I HATE olives. I do love gin though. I usually go for a martini made with Bombay Sapphire and with a lemon twist instead of olives.
