What is the meaning of 'short'? I am considering an entry with less than 4k words; is that short?Mine has been submitted: 'Sierra Stardust Strips'. Short but sweet, hopefully.
Mine is 2200. But all my stories are short. I have a lot of stories in the 2k to 5k range. What is the meaning of 'short'? I am considering an entry with less than 4k words; is that short?
And yet they are charming, delightful and a lot of fun. Your point is?Mine is 2200. But all my stories are short. I have a lot of stories in the 2k to 5k range.
I think mine is about 5k. In the context of some authors on here who seem to routinely enter 10k+ stories in contests, I think it's fairly short, and it's also on the short side for my personal average story submission. What is the meaning of 'short'? I was hoping to reassure Morevinila that submitting a story under 4k would be fine. And yet they are charming, delightful and a lot of fun. Your point is?
Thank you for that, you did reassure me. I've seen there's also an authors' challenge on 750-word stories but that's a different story.I was hoping to reassure Morevinila that submitting a story under 4k would be fine.
Everyone has their own “ natural length”. As I said, for Lit my stories are on the short side. I tend to write in 2.5k “chunks”. Sometimes that’s a chapter in a longer work, sometimes I go longer if there’s more to tell. I wouldn’t worry about it.Thank you for that, you did reassure me. Typically what is the average length for a story (stupid me asking such a question)? I've seen many run around 10k, even more. I get the impression stories that are too short are not appreciated by readers.
The one I intend to submit is 3.3K - I'm working with an editor (to help me because I'm not a native English speaker) but I don't feel like I should add anything to it as it would disturb the pace and the mystery.
To give you a frame of reference, a Lit page is around 3750 words.Thank you for that, you did reassure me. I've seen there's also an authors' challenge on 750-word stories but that's a different story.

What happened?Ah, it's snuck up on me!!!! I was hoping this would be the first contest I participated in.
Don't forget you can submit a story up to July 5th, so there is still time.Ah, it's snuck up on me!!!! I was hoping this would be the first contest I participated in.
Nothing much, really. I just haven't written anything erotic for a few months, I've been inspired by my novel. Hopefully I'll have time to pull something together. What happened?
Good luck, and welcome!Just submitted mine, my very first on Literotica. title: The Naked Motorcyclist.
Well done! It’s exciting, isn’t it?Just submitted mine, my very first on Literotica. title: The Naked Motorcyclist.

https://forum.literotica.com/threads/the-2024-literotica-annual-nude-day-day-story-contest.1611563/What is this contest? I've never participated and I do not see any information on it. Can someone provide that for me, or a link to the info? Thanks.
Yes, I did an internet search for the phrase. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of how Mr. Vonnegut portrayed women as subservient and "lesser" than men, so I haven't read much of his work. Interesting title, though!Classic Kurt Vonnegut 1960s sci-fi, mostly forgotten now, sadly.
