love your Vonnegut tribute, Carrie

great to see you aboard

Thanks, Christian. The news announcement was the first thing I saw when I turned on my computer. It saddens me that another brilliant mind passes but it reaffirms that no matter how we argue against it, death comes to all. (Being very philosophical and resigned to fate today - for a change  )

I needed a bumpstart to get my creativity flowing... If I'd like to submit poetry to some publishers, I'd better get writing.

Everyone Says I Love You
1932, lyrics: Bert Kalmar, composer: Harry Ruby
Groucho:
Everyone says I love you
but just what they say it for I never knew
it’s just inviting trouble for the poor sucker who
says I love you

Take a pair of rabbits who
get stuck on each other and begin to woo
and pretty soon you’ll find a million more rabbits who
say I love you

When the lion gets feeling frisky
and begins to roar
there’s another lion who knows just what he’s roaring for

Everything that ever grew
the goose and the gander and the gosling too
the duck upon the water when he feels that way too
says quack quack quack

Chico:
Everyone says I love you
the great big mosquito when-a-he sting you
the fly when he get stuck on the fly paper too
says I love you

Every time the cow says moo
she’s a-make the bull-a very happy too
and the rooster when he holler cock-a-doodle-doodle-doo
says I love you

Christopher Columbo he write
the queen of Spain a very nice a-little note
and he’s a-write I love you, babee
and then he get himself a great a-big a-boat
he’s a wise-a-guy

What do you think Columbo do
when he’s a-come here in 1492?
he said to Pocahontas achi vachi vachi voo
that means you little son of a gun, I love you

Zeppo:
Everyone says I love you
the cop on the corner and the burglar too
the preacher in the pulpit and the man in the pew
says I love you

Every one, no matter who
the folks over eighty and the kid of two
the captain and the sailor and the rest of the crew
says I love you

There are only eight little letters in this phrase you’ll find
but they mean a lot more than all the other words combined

Everywhere the whole world through
the king in the palace and the peasant too
the tiger in the jungle and the monkey in the zoo
says I love you :nana:

ditto on the good job. i enjoyed reading your poetry.

congratulations

:rose:

continuing another round straight on?

right on, AChild. you made it though and inspired me much, with your presence.

i hope you do it again, soon. :)

The dance isn't over, cause I can still hear music. I am playing my song but my ear twitches when other poets pick out notes. The music draws me from sleep and other hobbies. So why pretend, I love to pull my strings. In blues and greys, other emotional shades and genres. 30 days is a obligation, a journey, a growth hormone. My goal is 12-30, just to see how sharp my notes get.

Thanks for listening and allowing me to jam with you.

You must of been out too late last night or up too early this Sunday morning, either way, I like this. I can really "see" it; the cigarette smoke makes me queasy rather than wanting breakfast. Domo arigato for the fine fresh 30/30 slice.

Thank you, Mr. Neo. I agree that the tobacco haze is very unappetizing, but I can't handle non-smoking restaurants.

hold the skull and crossbones,
its godfuck nectar

Just put that on a T-shirt for me.

here it is, actual size.

Wow! For a 2d guy you're very deep. Thanks for all of the wonderful, introspective poetry for the past 30 days.

Congratulations, darkerdreamer, on completing a great 30 in 30. :nana:

yeah, 2d...way to go. i know sometimes it feels like a chore, but for me, the commitment and completion deal usually harvests 4 or 5 good ones, not only making me feel like it was worth the effort, but keeping my gears working (at least a bit) on a daily basis.
and i believe you have far more to harvest that 4 or 5.
i hope you go for another run soon. you inspire me.

an investigation of my pocket
turns up sixty-seven cents,
a smashed pack of Camel's, nearly empty,
a train transfer ticket, expired,
and enough lint for a new sweater.
but still,
no piece of lined paper with those seven magical digits.
It should be Kools, not Camels (reflectin' my former vice and grammaticler: there's no possessive, eh?) but, hey. All good.

You rock, bud. Do it again.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement, 30/30 is definitely a stretch some days but as Curt said, you can sometimes pull out something decent from the rubble.

I would think loserstyx would second the Kool comment, were he not MIA as usual.

Looking forward to starting again, that feeling of accomplishment after completing a 30/30 appears to be addictive.

Bravo, WSO! That's pretty much a 60 in around 60 days, isn't it? Whew.. good job!

They're wonderful poems, I'm sure you have a lot to work with :) that will turn into a beautiful collection someday.

I hope you try again soon :p

WS1 your 30/30s inspire my own, almost every day... I hope that's a compliment. :)

Fantastic run!
