A Muse's Inspiration (closed for Poprockz)

Euterpe closed her eyes to the ocean as he spoke, instead focusing on that familiar voice behind her. His passion and excitement was apparent by the way he recanted his treasured memory, and that helped pull her away from the loneliness that threatened to swallow her up.

“What made you gravitate to rock? I understand there are many genres of music now that you could have chosen from,” she fanned the flames of conversation in an interested tone.

"We thought and talked long and hard about genre, mostly between rock and metal. Rock ended up winning out, partly because we were a three-man band, and partly because I was the deciding vote, in more ways than one. I just loved the higher technical difficulty of the vocal parts. It made the act of both writing and performing the songs that much more fun for me. We did try looking for a bass player, but we just ended up having problems with all of them, no matter how many we tried. Sometimes it was a skill issue, sometimes it was a personality issue, sometimes there were too many scheduling conflicts, and so on and so forth..."

Blake let his words trail off then, taking another long and slow breath before he continued to speak once more. "We eventually just stopped trying, especially the more we got to know each other, our tendencies, our strengths, our weaknesses. I've even been approached by more than one producer asking me to leave the band, switch to pop, and start a solo career. They told me that I'd make way more money, be an instant success, stuff like that, but I just can't see myself moving forward without the guys unless they choose to leave first. They've been there for me from the start, through the ups and downs, helped me grow as a performer and a song writer. They've earned both my respect and my loyalty. Now I know those words don't really mean much these days, not to most people at least, but they mean something to me..."

"Respect and loyalty..." she echoed thoughtfully. "They are admirable concepts, though I would caution you not to hold them in too high regard. Loyalties can shift like sand in the desert or put you in difficult situations, while respect won't necessarily keep you safe, nor is it guaranteed to last as well. Trust who you like, Blake, but take my advice and guard your heart. To leave yourself open is to invite heartache.”

It was good counsel that she imagined Blake could use. Perhaps he could avoid the sort of betrayals she had faced in her lifetime. The sort of betrayals that left one crying on a cold, unfeeling floor of a room where no one could find you.

Blake listened as Euterpe echoed the words respect and loyalty back to him in a thoughtful tone, and he also listened as she continued to speak. He wished that her words weren't true, but there truly was no way to deny the truth of her words. There was too much proof in human history to deny the truth of them.

"I will guard..." Blake started before the sound of the doorbell interrupted him. He then let out a soft sigh as he moved his arm from below her breasts to brace it on her hip so that he could ease his soft penis from her pussy, letting out a soft sigh of dismay when he did. "I'll be right back." He said as he rolled off of the bed, went to his low dresser, and took out a pair mesh shorts. He didn't even bother with a shirt, sticking to the theme of the evening as he left the room.

When Blake got to the door and opened it, he wasn't surprised to see that the entire order had been dropped off, and the driver was already gone. He'd setup the order to be contactless after all, in case he'd been too busy with Euterpe to answer the door. He grabbed the soda boxes first, bringing them in and setting them on the kitchen island before doubling back for the bags. He then unloaded the bags, leaving everything on the large kitchen island, save for one thing that he put in the freezer, and headed back into the bedroom.

When he got to the bedroom, Blake walked around to Euterpe's side of the bed and lowered himself on to his haunches so that he could meet her gaze. "How ya feeling?" He asked, trying to keep things simply and unobtrusive for now.

It was a pity that he had to get up- she had become accustomed to the warmth of his chest and the comforting weight of his arm. Not to mention there was something satisfying about having him remain inside her, as though his cock was bathing in the milky mess it had unleashed.

She had to admit, she was curious who was here to visit him at this hour. The delivery wasn't something he had divulged to her, so she was in the dark about what he was doing in the living room after he left her there on the bed. There was rustling, but beyond that she could only guess.

When he returned and asked his question, she sighed. "I think I'll have to go home soon. While I enjoyed this evening, I need to eat something." Euterpe was also a bit chilly now that she was naked and without the warmth of another body, gooseflesh being visible on her arm.

Blake saw and heard Euterpe sigh, and then listened to her words. Even as he did so though, he saw the gooseflesh rising on her arms, and even thought that he might have seen the slightest bit of a shiver. As he had with every interaction with her, he considered his options carefully before he finally speaking.

"I enjoyed this evening too, but if it's food your concerned about, you might be interested to see what I've got out on the counter." He rose from his haunches, turned towards his dresser, and scooped out a t-shirt and a pair of boxers before turning back to her. "What say you come check it out with me before you make any decisions?"

Oh? So it was food that had come with the doorbell ring and the rustling. What had he had delivered? She couldn't smell it, but perhaps the scent was contained, or the food didn't have much of a smell. Maybe there would be something interesting that she hadn't tried before. There were so many foods and drinks that she hadn't had the opportunity to taste yet, and she loved trying new things. Truth be told, there was a cabinet in her own house dedicated to things she wanted to cook with or eat, like "ramen," "pop tarts," and "baked beans." One of her favorite modern foods was "peanut butter." There was just something satisfying about the creamy, sweet and savory treat.

It was obvious by the way she perked up that she was both intrigued and excited, though she tried to be subtle about it. Her eyes went to the clothes he had picked up and she hoped that he had picked them out for her. After all, it would be nice to have something to keep her warm and to keep the cum from dribbling down her legs for the rest of the night.

"I don't see any harm in looking over your selection to see if something catches my fancy," Euterpe replied, scooting to the edge of the bed before setting her feet down on the floor. It seemed as though her only remaining article of clothing was a single stiletto. The shoe was flicked off before she stood and padded over to him. "Are those for me?"

Blake was happy to see Euterpe's excitement and the way she perked up at the mention of what he had on the counter, despite her best efforts at hiding it. It meant that he at least had a small chance of prolonging this night, which was better than having no chance.

"Oh...yes of course..." Blake said, flushing with embarrassment at Euterpe's question as he extended the clothes he'd grabbed towards her. He'd of course watched as she kicked off the one shoe she had on, and he found himself curious where the other one had ended up, a classic quandary, but figured they'd worry about that later.

After he gave Euterpe the clothes, Blake stepped back, giving her the room to get off of the bed and get dressed. Once she was done and dressed in his shirt, naturally looking hot as fuck in the shirt that was just a little bit big for her, he led her out to the counter. He'd lined up the boxes of sodas that he thought she'd like, as well as the one she'd mentioned. There was a box of Cream Soda, Ginger Ale, and Sprite. Behind that was a variety of bags of chips, including a large bag of nacho cheese Doritos and cool ranch Doritos, Sour Cream and Onions Lays, and Barbeque Lays. There was also a bag of teriyaki beef jerky, a box of peanut butter Ritz cracker sandwiches, and a box of Sour Patch Kids. He didn't know how she felt about spice, but other than that, he'd tried to select a variety of flavors and textures, hoping that there would be at least something that she'd like.

Her excitement only grew as she followed him into the kitchen, surveying the cornucopia of snacks he had on the counter with curiosity. She had tried the classic Lay’s chips, as well as the cheddar variety, but she hadn’t tried any Doritos yet. If memory served, they were made from corn rather than potato. The beef jerky had been tried previously, seeing as dried meats weren’t unfamiliar to her. The peanut butter Ritz really grabbed her attention and she picked it up, excitedly holding it aloft in front of her and asking, “these have peanut butter, yes? May I try some?”

Unlike usual, she was more animated, as though this was a taste of what she might be like were she carefree and unburdened. One might say she looked like a child who had opened her presents on Christmas Day with her bright eyes and flushed cheeks. Though she was interested in trying everything, she didn’t want to be greedy, and certainly didn’t want him to think that she felt entitled to his food or possessions. Though she was a goddess, she didn’t own him nor his things.

Blake enjoyed watching the show of emotions play across Euterpe's face as she surveyed what he had bought. She seemed to be making no attempt to hide her excitement now, which definitely seemed like a rarity for her, and he was going to take that as a compliment. He saw the way her amber eyes flashed bright as she asked her question, and her cheeks flushed. He could only smile at her as he waved his arm across his body. "Of course! You're welcome to have some of whatever you'd like. It can all be preserved so that it doesn't go stale. So don't worry about that at all."

Once he was done speaking, Blake opened each of the boxes of soda and pulled one of each out of their boxes. He then proceeded to put them in the freezer before moving to the microwave and putting on a thirty minute timer. "Thirty minutes in the freezer is a good baseline to get a can cold without it freezing solid or potentially...exploding..." Blake blushed a little at the last word, likely making it very obvious as to how he knew about the last bit. He then grabbed the boxes themselves and put them in the fridge to get cold.

"Now then, what should we do while we snack?" Should we put on a movie, TV series, historical documentary?" Blake asked as he walked back around the kitchen counter towards the section of couch that faced the large flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. He didn't turn it on just yet, but rather left it open to Euterpe as to what they would do, and even where they would do it, in case she wanted to snack in the bedroom.

“They explode?!” She had uttered under her breath to herself, eyeing the remaining cans suspiciously. Fortunately, it seemed that he was quite knowledgeable about the parameters of their explosions, so she imagined she wouldn’t have to experience the same thing. He seemed embarrassed about it, so perhaps it was common knowledge these days. Yet another thing she would make a mental note of.

Euterpe glanced at the Tv and remembered that he also had one in his room. Where to go? To be honest, the couch seemed like it would be more comfortable to watch things than the bed, and it was better for digestion not to be lying down.

“Let’s watch a movie series. There are so many movies that I haven’t seen, and I’m tired of documentaries. What about…” she pawed the ritz box thoughtfully, “Jurassic Park? Or maybe Lord of the Rings or Star Wars? A man at a coffee shop told me that those are a must watch. He also suggested “Netflix and chilling,” but I got the feeling that it might be more of a pornographic movie.”

With that, she turned, grabbed all the snacks like a bear, walked over to the coffee table, and set them all down. Not a moment later, she was sitting on the couch trying to open the package of Ritz.

"heheh, yeah. If you leave a can of soda in the freezer too long, it will freeze solid. When the liquid freezes, it expands. When it expands, the can might not be able to...uh...accommodate it's new frozen volume, and if it can't...well...boom. It may have happened to me once or twice, hence the timer I set on the microwave."

Blake paused after his story to listen to Euterpe's suggestions, and when she was done, he happily nodded. "All fine choices. Netflix and chilling is actually just lounging around and watching TV or movies. It doesn't normally involve porn, but I guess it sort of can, heh, depending on the series or movie involved.

The sight of Euterpe wrapping her hands around all of the snacks was a priceless. Watching her try to open the package of Ritz though, had him doubling back towards the kitchen to grab a pair of scissors, in case one of the bags, like the beef jerky, was particularly stubborn. He set it down for her on the coffee table before tripling back to the bedroom to grab a shirt for himself from the dresser and a throw blanket from the upper cabinet in his room. He set the blanket on the back of the couch, put the shirt on, and grabbed the remote.

"And now for the hard part..." Blake joked with a smile. "...deciding which of those fine series to watch. "I think we'll start with Star Wars." He said, turning on the movie, reaching for a second remote to dim the lights around them, and then finally reaching for the Cool Ranch Doritos. He was of course curious where she'd fall between those two, as that was a whole other rivalry like Coke and Pepsi, and of course if she'd eat a chip from his hand or take it from him and eat it herself.

Star Wars… she wondered if it would be as literal as it sounded. She trusted his judgement though, so she settled in and waited in excitement for the movie to start.

Thanks to his help with the scissors, she was able to open the Ritz package with ease, though his Doritos caught her eye as well. She already knew she liked peanut butter, but she very much wanted to try those corn chips.

Holding out her hand palm-up, she asked, “May I try one of those?”

Blake happily settled back against the couch, his bag of Doritos in one hand. Still, he couldn't resist flicking his gaze over at Euterpe as she used the scissors to open the Ritz and took her first bite. Her excitement as they waited and snacked was infectious, and he found himself looking forward to sort of seeing it for the first time again through her as he witnessed her reactions to it.

When Euterpe reached out her hand and asked if she could have one, Blake responded without hesitation. "Of course..." He said simply, reaching into the bag and scooping out a nice big one for her and depositing it into her palm. He'd of course been tempted to try and see if she'd eat out of his hand, but the situation didn't seem right for it. She'd been semi-lenient with rule two so far today, and he didn't want to push her in that regard, or risk losing the jovial atmosphere around them either. He did naturally turn his head as she put it in her mouth though, curious to see her reaction to that as well, especially while they had time before the movie proper started.

After he watched Euterpe eat her first Dorito, Blake relaxed back once more and simply enjoyed the movie with her until the timer he'd set on the microwave went off. He then paused the movie so that he could get up and grab the three drinks he'd put into the freezer for her. He didn't know which one she'd want to try first. So he just brought all of them to the table for her.

"Explosion free..." Blake said with a smile as he set the three cans down on the coffee table near the snacks. "I didn't know which of them you'd want, and you certainly don't have to drink them all, but I figured I'd bring all three anyway, just in case. With this many snacks, you'll definitely want something to wash them all down." With that done, he settled back down on the couch next to her, curious to see if she'd open and try one or more of the three cans before he turned the movie back on once more.

She had popped the chip into her mouth and chewed, her eyes widening as she processed the flavor. It was... very interesting. Salty, definitely, but with a mix of seasoning that was undoubtedly delicious. Euterpe was quite pleased with this flavor of chip and made a mental note of it. During that next 30 minutes, she tried each of the chips. Once each chip was crunched and assessed, her ranking was as follows from best to least favorite: BBQ Lays, Ranch Doritos, Sour Cream and Onion Lays, and Nacho Doritos. The bbq flavor was sweet and spicy in a way that she very much enjoyed, so after trying them all, she settled down with a bag of those.

As for the sodas, she eyed them suspiciously as though there was still time for them to combust in a burst of sticky, carbonated glory. She hesitated for just a moment before she tentatively reached out and picked a cream soda. Usually the ginger seemed like it would be good, but she figured the creaminess of this one would pair better with the bbq chips.

Her graceful fingers took hold of the top and she opened the can. It instantly started bubbling and trying to foam over, so she slurped at the bubbles in the hopes that it wouldn't overflow.

Once it was contained, she shook her head. "Your drinks these days are delicious, but also very volatile."

Once Euterpe tried all of the chips, Blake felt more confident in speaking about the two Dorito flavors. "I don't know if it will surprise you to hear or not, but people have a rivalry of sorts with the two Dorito flavors, just like they do with Coke and Pepsi. Each side has their diehard fans that will literally die on that hill and refuse to touch the other type, even if it's the last bag in the store."

Just as he'd watched with the snacks, Blake naturally watched as Euterpe picked up and opened one of the cans of soda, even if it was one of the ones he already knew that she liked. He couldn't resist the slight chuckle as he saw the can threatening to bubble over or that the goddess had to resort to slurping to keep it under control. When she spoke though, he did nod his head all the same. "Heh, that they are. It does make me wonder how bumpy the ride over here was though, or if you just got unlucky. Still, I'll make a mental note of twenty-five minutes in the freezer the next time the situation comes up, which shouldn't be too soon with the rest of the boxes in the fridge." After he spoke, he reached for his own Coke and took a deep swallow before sealing it up and setting it down once more. He then took a long and deep breath before relaxing back against the couch once more, this time with his shoulder resting against hers.

It was funny to her that people could be so impassioned about what flavor of soda or chip they liked, but she supposed it had always been this way. Back in the day, there was a raging debate as to whether honey or dates were the better sweet treat, and she had seen many a fistfight over it.

"Mm," she nodded at him, acknowledging his future soda-freezing plans. Who knew if there was going to be a next time, but at the very least it would help with his friends or his lover when he had them over. She was aware of his shoulder touching hers, but she wasn't going to fret about it now. This was a casual evening to be spent enjoying movies, so she didn't want to rock the boat. Besides... it didn't feel uncomfortable. It was warm, feeling him leaning slightly against her own.

Euterpe focused on the movie. She got a worried look about her when they were pulled in by the Deathstar's tractor beam, but relaxed once they were able to get out of the ship okay. The trash compactor scene made her tense back up again though, her body pushing against his as though needing the slight reassurance that they were going to be okay.

Just as Blake had been able to feel Euterpe's infectious excitement for the movie, he also felt her anxiety at the more tense parts of the movie. It was taking everything he had not to just watch her, particularly at those tense moments and just before them. He knew that it would likely spoil that something was coming up though. So he did the best he could. It helped a touch when she was pushing against him though, giving him something else to be distracted by.

Blake's arm twitched a little against Euterpe's, because he wanted so desperately to wrap it around her shoulders, or at least slip it under hers, both letting him feel more of her against him, and giving her something to clutch at during those tense moments. He knew he couldn't though, or at least shouldn't, at least until he noticed the gooseflesh rising on her arms once more. His brain naturally remembered the throw blanket he'd grabbed earlier. It was risky, and he knew it, but he took the chance anyway, first rubbing his hands together to try and mask his true intentions at least a little.

"Phew, is it a little cold in here, or is it just me?" Blake asked, turning his gaze towards Euterpe. He then went the step further and reached behind them to grab the midnight blue blanket, unfold it, and flip it up and over to behind him. "Do you want some of this?" Blake asked, hoping that his voice didn't give away his nervousness as he lifted his arm over and behind her, extending some of the long blanket towards her as he held the other corner. He kept his arm aloft, barely resisting the urge to lay it down upon her shoulders as he waited for her answer.

Now that he mentioned it, it was a bit chilly. Engrossed as she was in the movie, she hadn't noticed the fact that she was getting a bit cold. A T-shirt and boxers were fine to wear, but they weren't the warmest of combinations. The woman rubbed her arms, noticing that not only did she have gooseflesh, but that her skin was slightly cold to the touch.

"I would like that. I have to admit, the movie is so exciting that I didn't realize I was cold until you said something." She reached up and pulled her corner of the blanket down and around herself, and his arm along with it. Euterpe wasn't a fool- she realized a moment later that she had essentially pulled his arm around herself, but she wasn't going to acknowledge it. To acknowledge it would be rather embarrassing, as though she was somehow admitting that she wanted the warmth and weight of it. Not that she had done it on purpose or would seek it out or anything like that, of course! But the circumstance she found herself in demanded that she simply ignore the fine details and let it happen.

It was much warmer now, their combined body-heat making for a very toasty time under the blanket. She avoided looking at him, instead focusing her gaze deliberately on the movie once more. A little bit later, she gasped. "Obi-wan Kenobi, no!"

Blake chuckled at Euterpe's mentioning that the movie was so exciting that she didn't realize that she was cold. "Heh, yeah, those kinds of movies are the best, and admittedly this room isn't always the warmest, especially at night."

As his arm slid around Euterpe's shoulders, pulled down by her own actions, Blake felt his heart jump up into his throat. He held his breath as he waited for her to push his arm off or ask him to remove it, only letting it out when it was clear that she wasn't going to do either thing. His pulse started to race as he held her close, but he fought the urge to push it farther, leaving his arm exactly where she'd pulled it to rest, as opposed to sliding closer so that his hand could dip down to maybe cop a feel.

Euterpe's reaction to Obi-Wan's death actually made Blake smile a little. He was enjoying how into the movie she was getting. "I think Obi-Wan knew that Luke wouldn't leave without him." He said softly, letting his gaze flick over to her, even as she continued to watch the movie.

Euterpe sighed, looking a bit sad that the old Jedi had to die. "you're probably right," she whispered back. "Wow... Darth Vader kills his father, and now he's killed his mentor. I'll be surprised if Luke doesn't try to get revenge later."

The woman reached down and grabbed the pack of Sour Patch kids, opening it up with the scissors before examining one with interest and then popping it into her mouth. Everything these days was so colorful, as though each food was begging for one's attention above all others. She puckered at the unexpected sourness of the candy, but then got a surprised look when the sourness faded. Oh, so it changed flavors? That was a very good trick!

"Oh for sure! I'd be hard-pressed NOT to want revenge. That's for sure!" Blake said with enthusiasm, even while knowing what was coming in the future movies.

It was hard for Blake to not be at least a little excited as he watched Euterpe reach for the Sour Patch Kids. He watched her examine it, curious if she was going to give it a taste with her tongue or fully commit. He then let out a full-bellied chuckle when he saw her face pucker at the sourness.

"Heh, yeah..." Blake started as he leaned forward and plucked a Sour Patch Kid from the box. "You definitely have to be careful when something says it's sour, because you never know how sour they are going to be." He then popped the candy into his own mouth, savoring the taste before the sourness faded and then continuing to suck on it rather than chew it.

"Hm," she nodded, taking note of his sage advice. He was more familiar with this modern world's foods than she was, so she trusted his words.

They continued to watch the movie, and by the time it was over, she was left beaming like a proud parent. "He did it!" She paused, thought for a moment, then tentatively held up her hand and glanced at it with slight uncertainty. "Is this an appropriate moment to do the high-five? I've seen people do it in moments of triumph." Euterpe hoped she wasn't making a fool of herself. It wasn't as though she had been able to practice this, not having had anyone to do it with and all.

Blake was glad that Euterpe didn't take his offering of advice as offensive. He knew that she was a proud woman, and had every right to be, for a variety of reasons, but chief among them being that she was a goddess.

When the movie ended, Blake couldn't help but smile at the beaming smile on Euterpe's face. He heard her words, but didn't respond right away, because she obviously looked like she had more to say. Her question though, was not at all what he had expected.

"Hmm..." Blake started, briefly turning his gaze from Euterpe's as he contemplated her question. When he decided upon his answer though, his brown gaze returned to hers. "That's a bit of a tough call given that it's just the two of us here, versus let's say a group of friends at a movie theater, and the fact that I've seen the movie before, but I'm going to say...yes, it would be appropriate. People often like to live vicariously through movie and TV characters. So they often have in depth discussions and debates about the characters, the lore, and the movie universe as a whole, with some people getting quite passionate about their viewpoints. If you feel particularly excited or proud of a characters triumph or heroic action, then I'd say that it's worth of a high-five."

She nodded as though trying to convey that she acknowledged the seriousness of the action. It sounded like it was a gesture to be done with friends and family, still used for triumph and encouragement. With that, she slapped her palm against his, trying not to do it too hard.

“Was that okay?” Euterpe asked, hoping she had done it right.
