I don't think it would prove anything. Whether it's my account, my writing, or both, is something I'll probably never figure out. With 2 out of 5 stories never getting hit with a rejection, and one never making it through, there isn't anything consistent within the rejections to prove definitively just what causes it and I doubt experimenting will help, either.Just on a hoot n a holler, maybe send the text to some one else to submit on their account and see if it goes through. Some who might willingly volunteer and has an extensive history.
I think I've gone from frustrated to defeated. My first rejection was in November, my last in March. It's just so much hassle for nothing. So much time writing something no one will see, or fighting to get something through when the whole thing is futile. If my account has been marked for some reason or another with these rejections, there's no point trying for something that'll never happen
They've already been abandoned. I haven't written anything - erotica based anyway - since MarchLiterotica isn't the only fish in the sea. I can understand why you'd decide not to continue here, I don't blame you for feeling extremely frustrated about it all. But if it comes to that, I hope you'll find some other home for those stories rather than abandoning them altogether.
I went almost a year between stories. They haven't been abandoned yet. At the very least, give them a way to contact you if they want to. They get notice when you update your profile. Add a contact there and inform them of your intention to delete your account so they at least have the option to reach out if they choose. They've already been abandoned. I think if you want to totally nuke your account, you have to PM the site, and it covers posts and stories. If you want to leave the door open, you can just request removal of stories and delete your own posts.
TBH I think you should leave your posts, including why you've had enough here.
Great example of how the site chooses to disregard serious issues and the don't like it leave attitude.
Won't so much as acknowledge there's an issue with AI, but hey, how about that new choose your own adventure feature? The one no one really asked for, how awesome is that?
At the moment, I'm still in two minds but I wanted to know where I stood on forum posts and account removal. I've still got some thinking to do, though I'm leaning towards removal more than anything else.Shirley, you jest, @Portly_Penguin... I haven't given you permission to leave Lit. Say it ain't so, Jo? How will we survive without you? I'm absent for a short time, and very thing goes to hell.

The thing is, it's not even that serious of an issue. If you look back at all the AI threads, the most common username you'll see is mine with most people getting stories through after a handful of rejections. I'm the only one turning it into a big dealGreat example of how the site chooses to disregard serious issues and the don't like it leave attitude.
I managed to get something through in March, but I had something go through without issues before and then got hit with 6 rejections. It's not worth it at this point, especially as I'm a long form writer. I've had to leave one story unfinished because of the rejections. I'm not doing it to another.I'm sure you could get your work through at some point. I have no idea why you got those rejections.

I did something similar for the story I managed to get through, but it's so much hassle for something that might not even work. That's the thing. There is no guarantee, even if I did put it through an AI detector, that it would make it through without a rejection. My editor says finding and fixing mistaken AI-tagged lines is a line-by-line process. When he gets my work, he creates an editor file and copies my work into it in manageable chunks of between 2500 characters and 500 words, depending on the editor he is using. He isn't buying any AI checker for a problem no bigger than it is in my or Mary's work. Most of the time, it's just verifying that it isn't looking like AI. If it does, he works on those individual sentences. When they don't hit anymore, he passes the corrected paragraphs over the unchanged ones in the original. He also checks in 5000-word chunks the stories from beginning to end, and if it doesn't hit 97 or 98% human, he reads and looks for what doesn't sound right. So far, he hasn't had to resort to going through any 5000-word chunks to look for problems. But if you work on the small parts from the get-go, it is much easier.
My issue with the continual rejections is WHY? What button did you hit that sparked it? I have had 3 stories sent back total. I don't remember why exactly but one made a reference to the way a woman was disciplined as a child that influenced her behavior in the present story. It was crucial to the plot so I had to do work around and then a note to the moderators. I still make vague references to how the woman became conditioned (it triggered latent submissiveness). It is part of a now 34 chapter series.I managed to get something through in March, but I had something go through without issues before and then got hit with 6 rejections. Mine were all AI rejections so it didn't matter what note I left, it came back. Other people managed to get through after one revision, I tried 6 times to no avail. I'd seriously reconsider just quitting. Get somebody to look it over with a fine tooth comb. (need to include the exact wording of what the mods said was the reason, could be multiple).
