Anyone for a nightcap?

A few weeks ago, I was at a happy hourish event with some colleagues, and the bar had all domestic beers at a special price. So, most of us order Kiltlifter. Only to find that it isn't considered domestic. :confused:

In a weird continuation of reading about trees (even I recognize this is weird... I blame it on seeing a woodgrain dictionary on The Man's bookshelf a few weeks ago), I'm reading a book on the impact of oak trees on the development of man. I learned a new word - balanoculture (peoples who's primary diet consisted of acorns).

Geekily interesting stuff...

LOL! It really is about the beer. It is a very good brew, I think - not that I am a beer expert. But I can tell the difference between a Kiltlifter and a Bud Light, for example.

But I'm OK with the mental imagery. Its not a bad image. :)
 
Ummm, I think I am going to start right now with an amaretto sour. It's too early to call it a true night cap. Will it qualify if I start now and don't stop til I go to sleep?;)

Welcome. We take the term "nightcap" quite loosely around here, by the way. I've even been known to post the type of coffee I was drinking on a morning.

Confirmed: I saw Shiner Bock on sale at my local food store. Did not get any as I wanted something lighter but it's now on the list for another time.

The folks we house sat for just dropped off a bottle of tequila - Cazadores Anejo.

we had a party this weekend, and lots of people brought likker.. and didn't drink...so now we have a kitchen cabinet filled with liquor...finally...it only took a million years to get a grown up liquor cabinet!

The newest canned "chu-hi" cocktail by Suntory! :D

They have a huge love here for "chu-hi", originally mix of sodas/teas/juices and Shochu a Japanese distilled spirit. Now the word is used for any kind of alchool mix that is not a standard Westner cocktail.

Black Punch is Coke and something. I think it was not a smart idea as I'm now feeling totally wired instead of ready for bed :p
Ok, it says it contains Guarana ... mmmm .... next time I should stick with my latest favorite: pink grapefruit juice and vodka :rolleyes:

I want a margarita. A large one. On the rocks. Lightly salted with a wist of something citric. And feel free to leave the pitcher.

I'm having an afternoon drink of kiwi smoothie. Nothing alcoholic for me because of the painkillers I'm on at the moment, but I thought I'd join your nightcap anyways.

I'm bored out of my mind - not being able to move without pain, I'm not exactly enjoying my sick leave.
