Anyone for a nightcap?

Only if you want to be moved to the AA wing where you might get a nightly tasting of fine 2-month old Welch's.

Or maybe just grape markers to sniff.

And it WAS fruity AND refreshing! Fuck! I think the little card description said something like, "hints of citrus and pear" or some shit. At least I didn't say THAT! Plus, it was one hundred and fucking three degrees: chilled bat urine would have been refreshing. So technically, yes, both fruity and refreshing.

Fruity and refreshing, eh? You realize you are in danger of being committed to the OWRA for remarks like this, right? That's the Overwrought Wine Reviewers Asylum for you newbies.

 I love fruity and refreshing wine.

DGE: I guess I will see you there.....

1/2 oz Cointreau® orange liqueur
1 oz vodka
juice of 1/2 limes ( fresh only!)
1 splash cranberry juice

Vodka: Finlandia Cranberry
Do NOT substitute for the rest. Vodka of preference is fine.

Chilled Martini Glass -THIS IS KEY!

Yoga breathing - through-out.

Blue Moon Summer Honey Wheat with dinner.

I finally mixed up a bath of sangria... it only took until almost August to get around to it.

Extra super-duper cheap zinfandel
blueberries
strawberries
cherries
pineapple

24 hours in the refrigerator and it should be decently yummy enough...

That's a helluva lot of sangria, Ms. Mouse. Did it have a salutary effect on your skin? ;)

Tonight: a gin and tonic followed by some Sam Adams Boston Lager to accompany the chipotle-seasoned cheeseburgers.

Do you know I didn't even see that typo until you pointed it out?

Tonight it was happy hour margaritas with the BFF, then tipsily wandering World Market (bemoaning our impoverished states), then home, dinner (pasta with homemade red pesto) - with sangria, and now I'm nibbling the drunken fruit at the bottom of my wine glass for dessert.

I've been feeling very emotionally disorganized the last few days; I'm afraid it's resulted in imbibing more than is necessarily prudent...

Tonight: Hob Nob Pinot Noir, probably preceded by a gin and tonic.

Amended: followed by a martini (very dry; straight from the bottle, actually) and Calvados.

Question again: Way, way long ago, in world far, far away (okay 1990 on the East Coast), I happen upon a drink served on the Jersey shore called a Raspberry Delight. It had Chambord, vodka, I think, a splash of sweet and sour...and???? I can't remember the last component.

Anyone have any suggestions? It was super good and I remember it had four ingredients because I remember often drunkenly holding up the four fingers as I counted off the ingredients to bartenders in other parts of our great nation who did not know how to make this concoction.

I made a huge patch of pesto earlier in the week and mentioned to a friend that I still had a ton of basil growing in the backyard. The suggestion was a basil gimlet. I checked some recipes and used my Thai basil for the syrup. Yow. A keeper summer drink. Albeit one that hasn't yet yielded any typos.

Young's Double Chocolate Stout

AND GET THIS!!!

Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale!!! (which sounds like it should be one of those gimmicky beers that tastes horrible, but it's really quite a nice english pale ale!!)

Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon. Will soon be ordering a bottle of the Montes Purple Angel for a special dinner. :D

Either lemonade with Wild Turkey American Honey

OR

Limeade with Wild Turkey American Honey.....

Can't decide, can't decide...maybe both?

Now I have this song in my head again!

Good luck on such a big decision... If all else fails, never underestimate the decisive power of eeny meeny miney mo. :D

For me tonight, Yellowtail Merlot. *cheers*

oooo their Purple Angel is delicious and perfect for a special dinner.

I had two Ontario wines with dinner that were perfect complements. Henry of Pelham Baco Noir with roasted elk and Henry of Pelham Late Harvest Riesling with a lemon meringue tart and blueberries. mmmm good.
