Anyone for a nightcap?

I am making my delicious red sangria tomorrow for friends bbq on the 4th. Cant wait to eat wine soaked apple slices. ...

I dunno, I saw "nightcap" and I came in...

My second glass of wine, so far. :)

I had my first taste of Ardbeg Supernova on Friday. It was excellent! It smelled quite light and fresh, flowery almost, but the flavor was completely differet: peaty and strong with a nice smokey finish. Sweet and rounded. Really, really good.

Laphroaig's Quarter Cask after that was quite shocking, even if that is probably the "least edgy" of all Laphroaigs. But that's good too. :)

Sun baked earthy green tea with raw grapefruit honey and tart lemon slices served in a tall cobalt blue glass over sparkly melty and wonderfully clink clanky ice cubes.

Really though, I'm mostly sipping on summer as slowly as I can.

Cheers all! :rose:

Cheers, indeed. :rose:

Bastille french reserve whiskey the rocks. Feeling edgy and contemplative. Hopefully this settles me into rest

Huh, interesting. Doesn't have that typical dry thing that you find in Ardbeg. I think the experts call it" old medicine cabinet".

Laphroaig is my " I'll always come back to you" whisky. The quarter Cask is really nice and doesn't scare off quite as many guests.
We actually had the bottle out last night, but that was for the barbeque sauce for today's pulled pork.

It was quite different from the regular Ardbeg. Very, very round and usually I tend to prefer the sharper ones, but this one was yummy.

Laphroaig is one of my favorites too, and I think the quarter cask is really good value for the price. Glenmorangie's Quinta Ruban is surprisingly high on my yummy list at the moment as well.

Much like Talisker Storm then.
My husband refuses to go near regular Talisker and my brother murmurs about taste of old ropes used in the harbour, but both like the Storm variety.

A shared pour of 10 year Isle of Jura whisky with a dear friend. She brought it to celebrate the first time we had it together and everything that has happened since.

Cheers all!

Speaking of crimes that ought to be brought to the attention of the good folks at The Hague, from a regional winery near me:
