I think this is where Americans are stumped. The meat is sausage, the shape is a link or a patty, or ground. I use ground sausage in my spaghetti sauce instead of ground beef.

I hate my brain for this, but does @Wand3rlust class the thing on an Egg McMuffin as a sausage, now I need her opinion on beef and venison sausages.

I'll admit I was glad to escape Tesco when a bunch of people would come in with American recipes only to get angry that we didn't sell baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) and corn starch (corn flour) thank God those days are behind me.
