They work by generating high frequency electromagnetic waves which induce electric “eddy” currents in pans which heat the pans. Do that to a pacemaker and bad things might happen.

That's interesting.

I watched a YouTube sometime ago. A person had smashed the front of the microwave and was cooking meals in it, they were sticking there hands in swapping plates of food whilst the microwave was running because it was quicker doing the meals.

About a thousand years ago I did a degree in electrical engineering. Due to the passage of years and a few too many Theakston’s Old Peculiars, this is one of the very few bits I remember.
