Not sure how long this sites been going but I've been a 98% lurker for 10yrs ! Seen some interesting people come n go, tend to drop in randomly have a read of what takes my fancy, rarely post but do like to follow the odd thread

I think it's hard to stay fulling engaged as a non-lurker. Ive come and went from LIT for years. I lurk thru most forums and post in few. In the age of cell phones its difficult to write alot. I mostly just PM with a select few.

I have been dropping in and out of lit for about eight years, give or take. I miss taking part more actively, but those I connected with originally all seem to have left.

I still love reading all the discussions though. I return for that.

Same as lurking, right? Peeping into others' windows.

I'd say I'm an unitentioned lurker... I have no problem posting if I have something to say. I'm usually looking for a subjects and conversations that appeal to me. Sometimes I'm just looking to gather more information more than to share.

I've found that lots of people use alternative IDs for discussing things on certain boards. It's probably because there's so much judgement here.

I don't think it's wrong to have another persona. I do however think it's wrong to interact with people using both without full disclosure and for the purpose of deception. I have also witnessed this with some people.

I just doesn't make sense to me.

I lurk way more than I post, because I rarely have anything to say here anymore. And sometimes when I do think of something on-topic to say, I feel like it might be too out of the character for me to post here, so I take the discussion elsewhere or just decide its not that interesting after all, and continue to lurk and post about books and cooking here.
