Attention all gun-rights advocates

Guns are politically useless. I believe that was the opening. Totally on topic. In the end, Mao was corect. Power comes from the barrel of a gun.

And in this country the forces of the state always have more and better guns, as well as organization, training and discipline. Only a lunatic would try to fight them.

And the whole point of that little writeup was to illustrate what an inaccurate assumption that is. Tell the former Yugoslavia that one.

Why is there such fear of your neighbor being armed with a pistol or rifle and yet such comfort in your government being armed with armor personnel carriers and tanks?
Which of these two groups in the U.S.A. have a history of suppressing and waging genocide on groups of people living in this land?

Both.

Welcome to my ignore list.

Well, given the 2nd amendment was intended to allow the citizens of this glorious Republic to defend themselves from tyrannical government, seems a very good argument for extending the 2nd amendment to include everything short of nukes.

Oh yeah! This is so cool. Personally, I don't want artillery for myself personally but a grenade launcher would be fun. Could use it for duck shooting as well :D

That depends on who your neighbor is. :(

I wish to remind you of something that you should know very well, but often appear to talk as if you have forgotten:

You do realize, don't you, that your guns are politically useless?

I think Gavrilo Princip, Giuseppe Zangara, Lee Harvey Oswald, Sirhan Sirhan, John Wilkes Booth, Mustafa Abu al-Yazid (a not large list I know) would disagree with you.

Not that I'm defending their actions, however there were definitely political ramifications after their shots were made.

To quote the gentle soul - "Outstanding. Those individuals showed what one motivated Marine and his rifle can do. And before you ladies leave my Island, you will all be able to do the same thing."

Because the neighbor is a wacko and the military is not a neighbor.

As noted in the OP, that falls under the heading of crime, not insurrection.

Only because the 2nd Amendment exists. My thesis is that the amendment is pointless. Legal arguments are irrelevant to that purely political discussion.

I imagine they wouldn't' if they don't support your point of view. Your view is based on the fact that you have your head in the sand. Sorry isn't a very compelling argument.
