Bandit's Blurt and Vent Thread

I'm back - just had one of those times when I haven't had a lot to say :eek:

We had some dramas this morning with the dialysis machine and its air detector alarm :mad: However we did all the right things and after talking to one of the nurses at Sydney Dialysis it finally settled down. Dialysis machines don't like frothy bloody air bubbles in their bubble traps! :eek:

We have been dialysing every 2nd day for a while and while it is good for Sir to get the extra time, we've found we neglect ourselves....finding time to just be US can be a problem with everything else that has to be done. Still lots of cuddles and kisses (sshh ;) ) work wonders when there isn't time for much else.

Also counting down to my colonoscopy on the 16th....the MRI I had of my brain showed no aneurysms and we're both hoping the colonoscopy shows nothing untoward as well :)

What ever they find dosen't matter ... either it's clear or we deal with it as it's better to know or be like a friend of ours who is now undergoing cancer treatment because he used the head in the sand when he knew he had a problem.

BANDIT:heart: hasn't been neglecting this thread just no time to get on the net lately & I'm only on here because I'm an insomniac :rolleyes: I would much rather be snuggled up with BANDIT:heart: then here even though we both have made many wonderful friends here.

Expect BANDIT:heart: to drop in soon!

Hi {{{{{Gil}}}}} :kiss::heart: Well she and you do have a life beyond Lit. :) Hope all is going well hun.

I hear you about not having anything to say here. I go through that myself. :) Glad to hear the extra dialysis is good for Him, but yes that can have such an impact on everything else you HAVE to do. Yes, touching, glances, :kiss:es can do so much for us.

I am happy to hear your MRI was negative. Hoping the colonoscopy shows the same. :heart:

{{{{{{Kayte}}}}}}

As I said I stress out everytime I have to get any procedure done in hospital :eek:

{{{{{Gil}}}}} :kiss::heart:

I don't blame you hun. You are getting things done often. :rose:

My Cardio doc was telling me that it's got to start charging everyone here because of the growing number of aging ppl putting a strain on the health system, this is something & dread as I know so many will be neglecting their health simply because that can't afford it.

Our health system has been fantastic since it's introduction but as I said after the government spread the word to build up the population back in the 50s & 60s there is a massive drain on heath plus they keep cutting costs all the time with the patients being the ones who lose out.

Like I said, it sounds just like the States. :rolleyes:

Hope it all works out for all of us.

It scares the shit out of me the way our health system is going & I know about yours in the US as I spent 8 days in hospital there in 1995 & left with a bill just under $40,000 with no operations just being treated.

At the moment I'm on heamodialysis at home which has me much healthier then if done at the hospital unit, the costs for us to have the unit & all my supplies are free to us at this time, my fear is for the future. :(

{{{{{Gil}}}}}}:kiss::heart: Doing that at home is much safer for you. Hospitals have so many sick people with all kinds of germs. :eek:

My fear is for the future where I am too. I mean all the lawmakers can do is posture and fight and not work together to sort the health care mess out.

Seems you are right about our health systems as ours opperates the same way with those with health problems suffering the worst of all.

LOL....Aussie shortspeak for yearly car registration. Because we're pensioners that part is free but we have to pay for third party insurance and "pink slip" (inspection certificate for road worthiness).

We had a nice day today....went back to bed after breakfast for some "us time" ;) :devil: Sir slept for longer than I did I must have worn Him out :D
We went out for lunch, did the "car rego" and a bit of grocery shopping (I only wanted a couple of things but ended up with $70 worth - why does that keep happening?? ;) ) and had a look in an antiquey place for a while then we went home for another rest before I went to my pump class at the gym.

It's starting to cool down a bit weatherwise too. I have worn jeans, sneakers and a hoodie for the first time in ages, but no doubt we will get some hotter days in before the end of the month.

Dialysis tomorrow, then Sunday, then a 2 day break while I have this damned colonoscopy....:eek:

{{{{{{Bandit}}}}}} :kiss: :heart: Thanks for explaning the slang. :)

I hear you about the final grocery bill being more than expected. :rolleyes:

Glad to hear the too of you had a great time. :devil:

Nodding at your description of the weather. We've been having slightly warmer temps then usual, but I would not be surprised if we got lower ones again too.

You will do just fine getting the test. Ummm, have you studied? ;)

Hi {{{{{Gil}}}}}} :kiss: :heart: Exactly. Leaving a :kiss: and :heart: for {{{{{Bandit}}}}}} too.

I am home on my own for a few hours while Sir goes to a vintage speedcar afternoon (He may even get a drive in one of the cars!). He took His helmet and race suit "just in case" ;) He knew I'd be bored so I'm home with the TV and internet to keep me amused :D

We are going to the speedway later on so He will call me when He's about to leave and I'll get myself ready so we can just hop in the car and go.

I'm about to raid the fridge to see what's for lunch.....:p

Hope you had a marvelous time! :D

Strained chicken noodle soup and a glass of diluted sports drink does not a lunch make :mad:

I'm on clear fluids only from this morning until tomorrow 7am then nothing until after the colonoscopy. In about an hour I have to take some stuff that will have me pooping through the eye of a needle - oh yay :rolleyes:

BANDIT:heart: has taken the stuff a while ago & it's working fine although I doubt she does & that needle she talks about shitting through I'm not holding it! I love her but OOOOOO icky. :eek:

*hugs to you both*

:rose::rose::rose:

:heart:

Thanks FurryFury. :rose:

Just after that BANDIT had several quick trips to the toilet & then felt sick, went pale & felt like passing out . The form she got from the hospital had a phone # if anyone has problems but it's not attended after 5pm & all this happened just before 6pm so the hospital will be hearing from me in the morning.

BANDIT has settled down now but we are holding out on the next batch of "Rapid Intestine clearer" for a while, I've put her to bed for now.

Took the 2nd lot of stuff (boy does it taste yuck) about an hour and a half ago so waiting for that to work - there will be nothing left of me at this rate :eek:

I think my blood pressure dropped when I started feeling ill. This has happened once before when I had violent food poisoning and I did faint that time - I hit the floor with the side of my face and bruised my cheekbone. I have my fingers crossed that this doesn't happen again - poor Sir was so worried!

I will tell them what happened tomorrow at the hospital, maybe they can give me some tips to stop it happening next time :eek:

Great news, NOT.
I have to go through this all again next week, because they couldn't get the scope up far enough. I've got a "bendy bowel" apparently.

So now I'm having a "Virtual CT Colonography" next Wednesday. If I'd had the procedure in the morning they could have sent me down to Xray on the same day and it would have been all done, but I didn't get in until after 3pm and it was too late to do it then.

So now we have to rearrange dialysis again because I think I'll be cleaning out on Tuesday which was when we were going to dialyse. Sir can't have too many 2 day breaks in a row so we might be doing Sunday and Monday instead. Oh JOY!!

Grace you will be pleased to know they did give me the good drugs.....;)

I am so sorry to hear that. :( That just sucks! And not in the fun way.

Glad to hear you did get the "good stuff."
