I concur on pieces that can be too recognizable. Some have mentioned Ravel's Bolero, and while it is a very sensuous and erotic piece of music, it's also quite familiar to many people.

One piece I've listened to recently, Widor's Piano Quartet in A minor, Op. 66, I think would make for fine background music for lovemaking. To me it has a nice carnal rhythm to it, though others may think differently.
