Bistro Bijou

The Bistro, always striving for Good Taste in All Things Art, here strikes out into the, OMG!, avant-garde.

I've just finished installing in the Gents (Sorry, ladies. Personally guided tours are, however, available.) our new, virtualized, guaranteed-to-be Web 2.0 ready, graffiti wall.

I know. It's Twitterific.

Oh, and guys? Please don't pee in this one. It isn't hooked up to the plumbing yet. Plus, it's worth more than your house.

I knew it was only a matter of time before you got round to putting that in.

Thanks for not putting it on a pedestal in the main room, too. We recognize it of course, but all it takes is one drunk cowpoke and we've lost our investment.

Can you please make this a separate challenge thread? I do not usually visit the Bijou (I never can figure out what is going on) and just so happened upon this challenge by chance. I am sure others are in the same situation who might want to join in on the challenges.

I was JUST thinking about this today -- thinking about writing from the point of view of my sons all grown up looking back at their dear old mom..... and voila here is your challenge.

If you are more comfortable leaving it here for the Bistro only, that is fine too, I thought it was a cool challenge and that it might be nice to bring others in.

I thought about that, I did. And I think it's not a bad idea, except that I'm concerned that it would get moved into the main forum because it would look like a thread about Serious Poetry and shit. I want to keep it casual.

I do understand that the bistro is disconcerting. Don't ever worry about keeping up with the topics; everyone's encouraged to just come in here and be in their own random groove whenever they want. There's no law about staying on topic round here. And you are always most welcome.

I should do a slight PSA even: anyone who wants to play a game or two should check out the first Bistro post. There are surveys, poetry challenges and things like that, as well as several fridges full of lovely poems. It's always a good way to get in here and be random.

Bj you have funny coloured grapefruit ... if that's not a too personal remark to make!

*anguished*

does it show?

It's cos I never get out in the sun.

On the other hand, this is from the woman with lavender thighs, so there ya go.

*wonders if Tz still sees me in delicate hues*

Are you seriously concerned it would get moved to the main forum? Surely if you wrote on the original post that you want it in the hangout no one would move it. And what harm would it be to actually post it in the main forum yourself? Casual is okay there too... just put in the original post that off topic chat is fine.

But do I understand why you would want to keep the challenge here under your roof. It is your challenge after all and I will say nothing more of it. I just thought you might want to share with the outside as well.

Thanks for the welcome to your fine establishment. You are welcome in any threads I started as well. :rose:

I actually am; I don't want to come across as overdramatic, but I really like the threads I start to remain casual, and I love it when things go off topic and wander into new territory. And honestly, I haven't paid much attention to the new guidelines round here; I'm pretty much only in the Bistro right now. In here everyone knows there's no limit to the conversation and where it can go. Heh, obviously.

It's a tone thing, I guess. I like really informal, low-pressure writing exercises; I'm hoping to offer a gentle alternative to the high-demand challenge stuff that goes on in the main area.

I'm not attached either way, and if there's enough interest in this, maybe I or someone else (like YOU? I'm SO not proprietary about this stuff...) can just make it into a separate thread... Whatever people want. I'm just here to serve drinks and have an occasional idea of some sort... That one was just a brainstorm out of boredom, since yesterday it was way too quiet round here.

omg suddenly all makes sense

oooh, nicely done!

*applause*

forgive my sassy tone. It's just how I am.

Isn't "all" actually the same as "nothing," at least in the Tao?

I'm pretty good at knowing nothing. I don't know about knowing Nothing, though. I'm still working on that.

Lavender is good for the breath. I suggest everyone lick UYS's thighs. :D

*laughing* yay!
I am so there.

Somehow I suspect he's headed North, not South.

Or maybe North by Northwest.

awwwwwww no toe sucking then?

I suspect you'll find somebody who wants to go there.

For me, it all depends entirely on what kind of noises you're likely to make.

If they're good noises, I might. Good loud agonized tortured pleading noises. You know the kind.

I'm off already. Like that's news...

Got a PM from a 29 year old guy begging me to answer him so I did telling him I was old enough to be his mother and 14 stone ....... haven't heard back yet

I was thinking of something a little fleshier, but toes can work. Do toes work for you? (Oh, and, naturally, that would be more like feet--y'know, soles, ankles, shins...breathing hotly upon the surfaces being caressed and massaged beneath my fingers and lips. ;):rose:)
