I only know "schweinhund" from watching Hogan's Heroes.

Anybody around at this godawful early hour?

only me but then it's later on for me!

"only" you? You're damn fine company, dolly.

*sits next to you and pets you*

eta: well I must admit it's actually noon here, so it's not like it's early for normal people. But well, for me it's early. Especially on a Saturday.

Tea it is, and some English biscuits. Personally, I'm trying to increase my coffee intake, but it may be physically impossible without an actual IV.

For that matter, Annie's a bit of an English biscuit herself. Very tasty.

I'm pretty sure you know several things, you naughty creature.

Didja see, I invoked you yesterday and did a weird photo essay for the bistro.

And i was thinking. This bunch really likes to write poetry about works of art; we had a thread like that a while back that generated some very fine stuff.

So I was noodling the other day on the idea of a Musee Shankara thread, where every once in a while you could choose a couple of pictures that you want to challenge us with, and poets could use the images you offer to spark some writing. You'd be like a mad and lovely muse.

I did notice a flurry of interesting pics lately

I think I could noodle the idea of that sort of thread. It would be Monday at the soonest before any action could take place, I'm leaving soon to cook for a little happy birthday party my GF is having for her 97 year old daddy then a late night babby-sit for my grandkids.

More thoughts about such a thread?

Oh, there's no hurry. It's just a little brainstorm I had a while back.

Some time ago Tzara brought up the concept of an ekphrastic. That's just a fancy term for a poem written about a work of art, painting, sculpture, photo, whatever. I'll see if I can hunt down that thread; it generated some fine work.

In that case people went and chose their own art, but maybe we could make it a perpetual and less formal thing, with just a picture or two every week or so that might inspire someone. Just a 'hey, if you're looking for new inspiration, see if this gives you ideas.'

You come up with such stunning images, and in such variety. I think you deserve your own little art gallery where writers can come and get inspired. A lot of poets seem to get a jump-start from looking at an image and responding to it.

Gallerie de Shankara? Musee du Muse Shanka-ji?

And you never know; people might just come and hang around nekkid in your thread and have snacks and play music, and stuff. It could happen.

Then your rep can be as bad as mine. heh.

*nibbles then stretches for tummy tickles*

woooodja wooodja wooo.. *blows a raspberry on your tummy*

I'll try to be careful. I was told last night that I bite pretty hard.

 It's not already!!!

Damn, I've not been working hard enough...

I'm off to cook now :kiss::kiss:

All this and he can cook.

*applause, eyebrow waggling*

And no, Shanka-ji. You have a scandalous rep, of course, but you're not quite the Troublemaker I'm known to be.

Be a good chef, now, and enjoy your evening.

Happy birthday to everyone in the world. I declare today to be
International Everyone's Birthday Day
in the Bistro.

Here. Start by blowing this out...
