Business Travelers Unite

I cover an 18 state territory and sadly out company has us grounded yet. So ready to go back out, but not if it's unsafe. Sucks that I came across this thread just before the outbreak. :(

I had my first flying trip last week. At first it felt a bit odd, but it wasn’t long before things felt normal again. Travelers were still pretty sparse.

Oklahoma

55 m like mast with traveling females or couples. Have E.D. But enjoy same room play No pressure etc. upscale only your hotel or house. No
Pressure. Hopefully regularly

Just got back from a work trip to Aspen. Airports were ghost towns and no good flying company. Social distancing is a drag not the same hotel bar feeling.

Have my first trip coming up in a few weeks. Been grounded since mid-March. I think I know what to expect with airports/airplanes, but more curious about the hotels and what that scene is like.

I’ve been to a couple hotels since the shut down and it’s been so quiet. Not nearly as many people as before and bars have been closed, restaurants limiting to take out to your room only. It’s definitely different.

The airport is really weird. I often fly out of or through about the 7th busiest airport in the US and I was the only person in line at TSA pre-check. Most of the restaurants were closed and only some of the convenience shops were open.

The flight was actually sort of nice. If you are in a 3 x 3 seat, the middle seat is open. On planes were it is 2 x 2 only one person is allowed in the row on each side. So it was pretty room traveling. Lots of space to put my bag and get some extra leg room.

Rental car places are extremely short staffed. Avis always checks my paperwork before I drive out of the lot (I get my car assigned on landing so I don't have to speak with an attendant). However, on my last trip there wasn't anyone to check my paperwork or at the return line when I arrived to drop the car off for my flight home.

That's what I have seen too.
NJ and CT travel.

I will be in a few weeks too.

I imagine airports etc are like the horror/disaster movies at the moment, eerily empty with sparse passengers eying each other warily and distrustfully.

i probably wont be for the rest of the calendar year...

TBN, right now I dont miss it. Right before the bug, I came down with sepsis on teh last trip to DC (who the F knows how) so I dont miss the travelling.

I’m back out again at the end of the week. Bar and gym are closed but pool is open 😊
