Business Travelers Unite

Hey everyone, will be in downtown LA from Sunday - Thursday next week. If anyone is in the area hit me up. 42 year old married M, fit, fun and respectful.

I've been absolutely astonished at how quickly business travel has rebounded for me since February of this year (almost exactly three years since my last pre-Pandemic trip to DFW). I just returned to Atlanta, with Boston before that. In the next month I'll be in Chicago twice and NYC in July. Based near DC when I'm not enroute elsewhere.

My hypothesis is that travel-related liaisons are like Communism: they sound better in theory than in practice. With a reasonably elevated standard for safety and sanity, the chance of successfully identifying mutual proximity and availability with someone likewise in transit seems extremely low. and I have a feeling that locals are wisely suspicious about the safety and sanity of travelers who might seek them out when they are temporarily local to them.

I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong, of course.
It’s an interesting hypothesis.

I think the experience is different for men vs women. It’s going to sound cocky but by all means I don’t mean it to, however I can usually always guarantee an invite to a gentlemens room if I’m at the hotel bar. It happens 99% of the time I choose to engage in small talk with another business traveler. I decline for reasons other than safety, sanity, etc., haha, unfortunately, but you get the point.

Would I make that move on a random guy? Most likely not.

It’s the same experience at local bars or restaurants around the area when dining alone but definitely not as frequent. Hotel bars are almost always guaranteed.

Another business trip to DC this coming August (NoMa-Galludet area), and on the 16th of June to Indianapolis for a rock concert in Noblesville

Any UK out there? I travel to North Yorkshire regularly with work at the moment, anyone fancy meeting up?

I spend a couple of weeks a month on the road. The closest I've come to a random encounter is listening to the people in the next room fuck.

Well, I guess that's not quite true. My buddy, who lives in a different city than I, set me up with his law partner once when I was going to be in the area for business. She'd just broken up with her boyfriend and needed some dick. I was happy to oblige.

Is that considered a random hook-up?

I think hotel bars lend themselves to a different interaction than other places. Most likely both parties are there alone and know it, both might be feeling some travel boredom or loneliness and there is a certain allure to hotel sex, both knowing there is a bed and privacy just a short elevator ride away. Being away from home, the hotel gives the time and freedom to give into a person's needs, possible indulge in a fantasy that a significant other may have no interest or just explore somebody new to escape the stale sex at home.

From a frequent traveler standpoint I can understand why a woman would not want to sleep with every guy she meets but I would think that at some point she would meet some really attractive and interesting guy that fires up her imagination. But then I can imagine that an attractive woman could have a special guy in one of the cities she travels too if she wanted, so there still may be hotel sex, just not with a pickup from the bar.

It is a hookup that I am sure a lot of traveling men would want to find.

Atlanta tomorrow and Sunday...anything good in atlanta?
Have you ever heard of Trapeze in Atlanta? I never made it there but I heard it is a sex club that does allow single men at certain times. I don't know how old you are but the is a place called Johnny's Hideway. It is out in the suburbs but has an older crowd. I went there once and there were some attractive single women there. Being the weekend I am sure there are some good clubs around the city. I was always there during the early part of the week and they were never opened.

I always stayed downtown and did not have a car so never got out of that area too often. I met several women in the Revolving lounge at the top of the Westin but that might be closed now. The hotel bars in the Marriott Marque and the Hilton were decent.

I also went to Magic City strip club one time. That was kind of scary. Got out of the cab and wondered what the line to get in was about. They were patting everyone down for weapons so it was slow getting in the door. I have been to strip clubs before but this was the first time that had a weapons check to get in. I was also a little bit out of my element.

Good luck. Let us know if anything interesting happens.

If you want a strip club in Atlanta the Cheetah is the most famous/popular and the Pink Pony is known to be fun. I haven't been to either in years. Johnny's Hideaway does bring in the older singles. It has a reputation as the classic pick up joint. There's more depending where in town you are staying and how far you want to travel.

Business trip to Gainesville 15th thru 18th. Would love to meet for a chat, drink, and more if it clicks
Looking for women only :)

Is the Taj Mahal still open in Atlanta? I was there one time and I remember reading about it in the Sports Illustrated during the 96 Olympics in Atlanta as one of the places for after hours fun.

The Taj shut down nearly 20 years ago when Cobb County (northwest of Atlanta) made it illegal to have alcohol and nude dancers on the same premises.
