Canes/whips/floggers/pandles etc - which are easiest to cause the most pain?

Mine don't look pretty, but they work. Usually, nobody sees my floggers. The submissive is bound and facing the other way and I already know how ugly they are. Why should it be how pretty they look. To me, the real pride comes from how efficient they work.

Function is often more important than form anyway.
After a bit of research on how to make them I'm realising how wonderful your suggestion is. With the multitude of options when it comes to length, width and amount of falls the only economically viable.way to find the perfect flogger(s) for me is to make them. I hope to learn to make them pretty too though.
Maybe in time I could sell them. MissMaidenMinx' custom paddles and floggers.

I am nagged by a faint memory of a book of bdsm diy projects, but can't find it. Am I nuts? Anybody else remember this?

I find the intensity of pain often depends on what I am craving at the given moment. For example if I crave or expect a thuddy pain and I get a whippy, stingy pain, the feeling seems to be amplified.
For the OP, I understand the desire for more pain, but what type of pain do you want? :D

The first link might be the book you are looking for. The other links are just DIY web sites for those who want to make their own stuff.

To accurately determine the answer to your question I would have to employ a series of quadratic equations but essentially from a seat of pants engineering perspective go with whichever has the highest velocity with the lowest impacted surface area ratio.

Good rule of thumb if it breaks the skin and makes you bleed it's probably going to hurt. A lot.

Well played.

Personally, I have only been spanked with a hand, and damn, it can hurt if you're not used to it.

Is it possible that your husband doesn't know his own strength, and therefore doesn't want to accidentally cause pain? That was a minor problem with my last Dom, his light touch was pretty hard. 80 slaps later, I'm surprised I could sit down!

Also, if you get him to play with you as he's spanking you, tends to be a bit more. . . . intense. There's nothing like nip play while getting spanked.

Also, if you think it hurts too much to sit/there's welts, I advise putting aloe lotion on it. Takes the sting from the spanking out and puts it. . . elsewhere ;)

hello i hope this is the right place to post this? my husband and I have recently got into spanking and although it was initially his idea, he is reluctant to hit me hard enough to cause the amount of pain I would like. So far we have just used his hand and a riding crop and I just wondered if something else would hurt more? Please help as I am a bit bamboozled by the array of things out there!!

Otherwise does anyone have any tips on how to bring out his inner sadist?

i love a riding crop , the feel of it on my bare flesh is heaven.

From a submissive's POV, I find that layering the sensations can also help with how your body processes and interprets the pain. A featherlight touch followed by a few short, sharp swats with *insert implement of choice*, and back to the lightest of light touches can really enhance the 'pain', which may be an avenue to explore until your hubby is comfortable with the concept of hurting you to the level you crave.:)

A good rattan cane, most definitely. A traditional British school-type cane causes an initial sharp sting and then a deep burning sensation quickly follows. Or you might want to try a scottish school strap...the ones with the end split into two or three tails?

It's called a tawse.

Here's a picture of two very basic models:

ETA: As has previously been noted in a number of posts, Darby, different people will find different implements to have the most effect on them, and that varying modes of usage of certain implements will greatly affect how their impacts are perceived. It is impossible to state categorically that "Tool A" is THE most painful for all people.
