The whiskey of their tongues already forgotten

Around us the scent of orchids and tobacco lowers bruised and senescent
blooms into the night air, thick with gunfire

I know this is the rare JAF with a dash a color but the first thought that came to mind was this is Jessica Rabbit in black and white.

Funny that my initial reaction matched the title of your poem even before I read/heard it.
