Chilly Saturdays call for chili

Squash soup topped with roasted peanuts and a pinch of lime zest. Contrasts nicely with the pinch of cayenne in the soup!

I don’t follow recipes for soups, but I will make a few when the heat breaks and write down what I put it them.
Funny story. Years ago, my sister in law called to say she lost the chili recipe I’d given her the year before and she wanted to make it again for her friends who loved it. So I rattled it off and at the end she says in a puzzled voice - “I don’t think the recipe had those ingredients.” I told her it definitely didn’t but this is how I’d make chili today, so she should trust me.

And she did. And it was awesome.

It throws me straight to just the "recipes" section, cutting off the rest starting with "bobby-flay". I can even see it dropping the rest off. 😕
 
Made this recently. Strawberry Watermelon Marg with Chamoy and Tajin rim.

Blend 6-8 strawberries with about same amount of watermelon and 1-2 limes. This is probably enough mix for 3-4 doubles. Strain juice. I added equal parts tequila and strawberry watermelon mix in shaker with ice and decent squeeze of Agave syrup. Rim pint glass with chamoy and tijin. Add more ice to glass and strain shaker. Cheers.
