Circumcised or natural (foreskin)?

Statistics for the incidence of circumcision in the UK complete with a pretty healthy set of reputable references. Basically, it's getting a lot rarer.

As an uncircumcised british male in my mid-20s I'm pleased on the official stance taken on a procedure I consider to be usually unnecessary and one I could only allow any future child of mine to go through it for therapeutic reasons or when they can actively turn around and ask for it.

Never had any functional/medical issues, no cleanliness issues (seriously, you don't need to wash it 2-3 times a day to remove any supposed fishy odour... but maybe that's just me!) and neither I nor any of my partners anything bad to say from a sexual or aesthetic point of view.

What a lovely topic for a first post.

Preventing STDs should not be the deciding factor for removing a perfectly healthy and natural part of a boy's penis. He should be wearing a CONDOM every time he has sexual contact with anyone, until he sees a medical report from a clinic proving the person he's with is clean.

It only looks 'better' to people who are USED TO circumcised penises.

If it's necessary to remove the foreskin in order to 'stay clean', then why is the female's clitoral hood not removed? It's the SAME TISSUE, in the same exact spot on the body.

And if it's so much better, why not remove the female clitoral hood?

Oh, that's right, because female circumcision is mutilation, unnecessary and dangerous, as well as reducing or removing a woman's ability to orgasm.

So why is male circumcision DIFFERENT from female circumcision again?

Yes I believe (ther than for religious reasons) they began to do it to all the male babies long ago because the mothers were not using hygienic methods when caring for their infants penis. That caused a lot of unnecessary suffering for male infants and even amputations because of bad infections and other health care related issues. So the board of health or somebody made circumcision a standard medical procedure in order to stop those kinds of problems. If it was my infant I would probably choose not to have him circumcised.

That's incorrect.

Circumcision actually became popular between 1870 and 1920 in America due to fraudulent reports that it reduced the rates of masturbation in teens. It has since been ingrained in the culture, any reason given for male circumcision other than pure aesthetics is about as accurate as the idea that it reduces the incidence of masturbation.

"A remedy for masturbation which is almost always successful in small boys is circumcision. The operation should be performed by a surgeon without administering an anesthetic, as the brief pain attending the operation will have a salutary effect upon the mind, especially if it be connected with the idea of punishment. In females, the author has found the application of pure carbolic acid to the clitoris an excellent means of allaying the abnormal excitement."

I've been with both types - cut and uncut. I like them both. Niether of my sons are cut, I just didn't see the point. It was made like that for a reason *shrug*

+1 I'm with you.

Course I was born in the states 1972 so it was SOP then. Both my son's have not been cut; they can figure it out for themselves.

Let me first say I am spiritual and not religious, so I have a hard time accepting magical burning bushes and whatnot telling me I will be punished or not for doing or not doing something. I was also born human and I make mistakes, some magic believers call them sins. I learn from my mistakes and try and not repeat them, some magic believer need their gods egos feed to have mistakes forgiven. If I really fuck up, I apologize, then I work on forgiving myself cause I don't live in the past, nor will magic change my mistake.

I have a 4th Level Dnd wizard that will grant you eternity and a harem if you snip of the tip of your right pinky finger off. PM for details on where to send the tip and I (I mean the wizard) will email you back your eternity salvation card.

Now to move on to hygiene. Here in the USA and most developed countries, we have an abundance of cold and HOT running water. There is also this product called soap. It can be bought for a relatively small amount of one's disposable income. I recommend: use it.

Now for 3rd world countries hygiene might be a real issue, but I don't pretend to know what is important to them.

Lastly, ask your Dr. what the procedure cost on a new born, then ask them how long that procedure takes. My calculations predict they make over $1000 an hour performing this sacred deed. Nice.

Did I go to far?

I don't care.

I've always been a fan of 'cut'.

Maybe it's because I'm American so that is what I am used too. For some reason, 'uncut' is a deal-breaker for me.

OMG... I have foreskin prejudice!

I understand the concern with this thread being in the wrong location :) But I found it very interesting!
I have only been with my husband, he is cut and until our son I never thought much about the uncut. We did decide to circumicise him, but for that week or so I was intrigued by the whole thing. And even now I do not understand the uncut penis, only because I have no experience with it. Looking a link someone posted I think the cut is more attractive, but the uncut is a mystery to me and I am still intrigued I guess. lol It is very interesting that the US is different that the rest of the world, because all the penises I have ever seen were in fact cut, even the dildos. Thanks for the increasings the mystery! :0 lol

I think being with someone uncut could be very interesting. Sadly, my generation is almost entirely cut so I haven't had the pleasure.

I'm from eastern Europe, originally. Circumcision is a foriegn concept there unless you're Jewish or have some type of medical problem (rare). I'm in the US now and obviously most men I meet are circumcised. I find it a totally bizarre concept - you have this newborn baby, and almost the first thing you do with him is cut off a part of their genital region. It's bizarre; I don't get it.

I respect the religous reasons for it ... but all the secular reasons make no logical sense. I've heard some parents tell me that they just wanted their son to look like daddy. I always want to ask them if daddy and son look at one anothers penises for comparision purposes often.

hey just asking around:

Do you think boys should be circumcised or left natural at birth?

Most say cut of course

Thanks

My son is uncut. I told the doctor before he was born to give me a DAMN good reason why I should cut off something that is not mine TO cut off. She couldn't offer me one and so my son is uncut and doing just fine.

We are American, so this was an odd deal ... up to the fact that when they gave me the paperwork before my c-section, they HAD checked that he was to be cut. I read everything before I sign and DEMANDED they change this.

Mine was kind of half and half for a while growing up. I guess I finished the job with a lot of masturbation or sex. I like mine cut. I think uncut cocks are ugly. Or should I say uglier.

Why cut "of course"? There's no medical reason for it, you just have to learn how to clean under it. It's mutilation, plain and simple.

If some women think they're ugly... tough. Is that a good enough reason to mutilate someone?

If it's done for religious reasons to show your devotion to god or whatever, well it seems like a pretty empty gesture when it's done to you by force, before you even have an understanding of what god is. If it was done at the age of sixteen or something and you actually had a choice, it would be a much more meaningful gesture because you are consciously making the decision to do it because of your love for god.

It seems to me anyway.

Personally I can't thank my parents enough for not having me butchered when I was a baby. Dressing me up in the sailor suit and bonnett was traumatic enough.

Here in New Zealand, the norm is to leave boys as nature intended, uncut!
I'm the opposie cattyuss, it was only last week I saw my first ever circumsised penis and found it really strange! The guy had it done when he was 7 for medical reasons- and had a lot of problems orgasming because he had practically no sensitivity in the head of his cock.. poor thing. If I have boys I'm leaving them as is!!

That's very interesting. I'll bet the women don't tend to think it "looks better" cut where you live either?

This is a bill of crap so many have been sold in countries that have endorsed cutting little babies for no reason. That's what I'm guessing. It's all what you are used to and propaganda.

i'm uncut, i have all my foreskin, i'd be a 10 on the ci index

i was with a girl where we had sex infrequently, so her pussy was very tight, my foreskin would act as a second hand, and i could feel it pulling back and forth on my cock, it was scintillating

i was with a girl where we had sex 3-4 times a day, she was mesmerized by it, would play with it when she orally pleased me, when it came to vaginal penetration, it made her climax because she said it was like extra fingers moving around inside her

i'm just starting to get into kink and bdsm, if i was ever under submission, a female dom teasing my foreskin would cause me to cum

yes, i can orgasm, by creating a gas bubble in my foreskin and popping it over and over, until i cum

I find that Mister's foreskin bunches and acts like a large 'ridge' on his penis when we have intercourse, it's VERY pleasurable! I'd be reluctant to go back to a cut man if anything ever happened to him.

truncated...

The foreskin is also able to perform its intended function, which is to reduce friction on a welcoming vagina. I know from experience that I am far less sore after sex with an uncut man.

This is it, exactly -- only been with one man who was uncut: my first boyfriend who was from Russia. There is a definite difference in comfort between cut and uncut. You hit the nail on the head, no pun intended lol :p
