Great thread! I have a corset-related question so I turn to the experts here for advice. I've been interested in beginning a waist-training program for my sub and I've found a style of corset that I find pleasing to the eye:

I wonder whether this style will be comfortable for all-day wear though? Would the angular point on the lower front interfere with the waistline of her pants? It looks like it might.

Thx
That's the Vixen, right? I wouldn't advise it for a beginning waist training program simply because it's high-backed and it has mid-length hips. To really begin a good tightlacing program you need to step into it slowly. Meschantes actually has a training corset but their Etoile style (no relation!) is also suitable because it's shorter in the hips than the Vixen. As for interfering with the pants, corsets worn for waist training are usually worn under the clothes. The pants would pose no problem, but you would have to consider how she would remove the underwear - unlacing every time you have to pee is a very bad plan! An alternative is to wear a thong or g-string at all times and then just pull the crotch out of the way for peeing. (Obviously this doesn't work for going #2.)

You will hear a lot of mixed stories about Meschantes. I have ordered from them three times (always from eBay, much cheaper that way) and I have been happy with all of my orders. I even have one in that exact same fabric as the one you linked! You can check it out here, it is their Courtesan Underbust which is not on the website but sometimes it pops up on eBay. If you want to investigate other makers besides Meschantes, you can look at my Corset World website where I have a long list of them!

Don't forget that you must get a fully custom corset for daily tightlacing and waist training. You absolutely cannot get one that is "standard sized" - even if they take bust, waist, and hip measurements, that is not enough! If you wear an ill-fitting corset every day you will quickly develop back pain and it puts unnecessary stress on the body. If you are just wearing it occasionally, standard is fine - I have a couple - but for daily wear you've GOT to go custom. (I don't tightlace anymore, I had to stop for health reasons.)

I figure I should ask now. I have decided as a reward for the weight loss I will get myself a corset where can I go to get one properly fit? Are there any major stores? or online? I hope someone can point out something good for me.. ;)

Thanks..
There are no major stores that carry true corsets. If you want a fashion piece with plastic boning you can check Victoria's Secret or Frederick's of Hollywood, it will run between $50-80 and it will break after a few years. It also won't be properly fit, they are very basic.

For a real corset, your best bet is to order online. I am also going to suggest my Corset World directory to you, because I have tried to mention for each one where they are located. If there is somebody near you, you can just ask them to do a fitting when you order from them. Otherwise, when you pick a corsetmaker, they will give you a list of measurements they need. You can bring it to any tailor or dressmaker and they can take the measurements for you. I don't recommend measuring it yourself! I've done it both ways; the one I was measured for by a dressmaker fits like a dream, and the one my wife measured me for fits okay but not great.

Off the top of my head, Dark Garden makes a corset-vest like what you linked. That one has more of a tuxedo look about it though, and I know I've seen a tuxedo-style corset somewhere before

Thank you again Etoile, kind of you to help, I'll look into these also!

Here are some

For those of you into corsets and the whole outfit. What is it about them that makes you hot inside or make you want to just grab the person and fuck them silly.

For me a corset is a type of restriction and bondage. Not only are they sexy but you are constantly aware of whats on you and it is almost as if it is a sense of control that you have very little control of. That and i think they are absolutely beautiful. Still want that denim one...oh maybe someday.
