Crafty Litsters show your work!

Thanks! The makeup and dressing took about 90 minutes, and the picture time and wearing it only took about 20 minutes, LOL. It was so worth it though! I have more pictures and I will be posting them!

Yeah, I've done some study into geisha makeup and dressings, tho admittedly not as much as English Renaissance. It's amazing. There is so much ritual involved. There is as much art involved in their dress as their other arts. Simply amazing.

You've described my natural haircolor very well! They used "black hairspray" which was more like "black spray paint, but it's safe for your hair" - I had a hard time getting it out!

I was just reading through the Japanese section of their website (thank you, google translate) and I saw that what I wore is called a "half wig" - they have full wigs for short-haired people. The place I went is http://kyoto-maiko.com - they do have an English section!

Ooooh, okay! I've used colored hair aresols before, they're fun, but like you said, a bitch to get out! I usually end up using olive oil and that seems to break down the color really well.

And I've looked at your pictures so many times I could describe you in my sleep. So I knew your haircolor by heart. <3

I thought about posting some 40K marine stuff here until I saw some of the finely done by Homburg and others, and decided not to dime myself out. Maybe some wood sculptures or the like will be up soon.

Super cool!

I still want those combs! One day I'm going to Japan just to buy the combs...and some silk, I mean I'm there right!

*jaw drops*

Holy crap, that's REALLY good.

 Thanks. I should probably specify that while it's my first attempt at digital, I have been doing traditional for quite some time, all though it's been sporadic. I have so many hobbies and interests, I tend to bounce around among them.

THAT is sooo precious! AWW! *melt* I love that picture. Super cute!

Sajack fell off the TV yesterday when she was sleeping and rolled just a little too far backwards. We immediately jumped up off the couch to console and comfort her like she was our kid or something. XD

Yeah, Stormy's the klutz of the family.

Way freaking awesome. Can't wait to see more!

Yes, but using a tablet is very different from holding a brush. You did an amazing job for your first time! And you are clearly an extraordinary painter!

Check out the link in my title - http://pect.us/maiko :)

Dude, I'm the poor sister compared to Shalrath's work. Unfortunately the links are dead, so you'll have to take my word on it.

Anyway, post your work! The worst thing that is likely to happen is some constructive commentary and/or advice. And if it is from me, it will be advice on how to cheat, not how to actually paint finely. I cheat like crazy.

What I wore to see Eclipse at midnight last night.

:cathappy:

I think I've figured out a way to do this in a more stable form. As it is, this is just paper fused to fabric, no bones.

What I plan to do next is printed fabric, so I can do boning and decorative stiching.

Those are really beautiful. I love the shape and the texture the fingerprints give.

thank you! I'm aiming for slightly deeper prints so I can try enamelling in the depressions. What I like about them, as opposed to most fingerprint jewellery, is that they look kinda abstract.

My business has offically gone to the dogs!

Show off your stuff!! Believe me, I'm a terrible painter, but I'll post some more of my stuff. The whole idea of this thread (let alone that hobby) is for people to come together over something they love and can appreciate. Also to have fun.

So even if the miniature's aint job, the crotcheting projects pattern, the recipes ingredients all turn out bad... if you had fun that's all that mattered. :D

I'll post my ogres when I get home for work along with some other crafts I've done.

OH.

My.

GAWD.

*head explodes from teh cute*

Can you do cat costumes? Please tell me you can do cat costumes.

I would be willing to try. I don't know anyone with a cat tho so would be hard to fit. I would need a few measurements and then I could decide what adjustments would be needed

That would be really neat, it's too bad you don't know anyone with a kitty. :( I've tried for two years to find a Halloween costume for Sajack, but I can't find one that I -really- love.

I'm working on it. If I come up with one, you'll be the first to know. :)

I make costumes and comics. :B
