Crafty Litsters show your work!

I paint ... oils, some water colours. Pen and ink and charcoal and pencil as well. I think it fueled my love for photography as well :D

EDITED...oops I resized these they were huge ... sry!!!!

These are a little older...

a scrubbing out technique...

portrait...

...some newer ones that I have started but haven't finished yet in case anyone wants to see what underpainting looks like...using tones to build up the base... I scrub the paint into the canvas to create the values I desire and then add the newer colours as they develop.

I love looking at everyones talents! We have a very skilled and creative group here!!! Happy so many people have shared and can't wait to see more!!!!

The bustle has some kinks to work out, but over all I'm happy with it.

WOW!!! All of your work is so pretty...I wish I had a 20th of your ability...I can hem and sew simple items at my best. Just beautiful work!! Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you :)
If you pop over to Fetlife, there is a gallery of my work on DaisysFloggers
I do take orders and try to create floggers that are a bit different. Pretty and very functional.

It was SW who inspired me to make my first.

<Wibble> Bless him for that!

Off to FL for some shopping! :cattail:

Miss Daisy, my goodness!

I fell down the rabbit hole and dragged Master with me. Gorgeous work, love the handles and colors and twists, oh my!

And vintage violet wands!!!! I'm fascinated by the refurbishing, etc. I know a scientific glassblower who would love to see some of those pieces. Wow!

*grins! Glad you like them! X

The wands are a bit special although the thought of using the dual eye piece, absolutely terrifies me.

I can't draw for anything, so we all have our talents.

My lack of drawing holds me back a little. I have a hard time communicating my ideas prior to putting them to fabric.

Oooh I know that feel! When I was in school I desperately wanted to apply to Rhode Island School of Design for their textile program, but getting together the required portfolio was impossible. I'm pretty good with graph paper, but blank paper remains terrifyingly blank. Even my stick figures are ridiculous. I know how it should look, but my hand never gets with the program.

I had an artist BF in my 20s...he's good. He tried so hard to convince me that I really could draw, but even he gave up after working with me for several months. Then again, a few days after he declared me a loss, I got a nice check for three needlework designs I'd submitted to a magazine. (They were on graph paper!)

What about using a template figure outline that you can add the design to? Not sure if that would work or not...just a thought!!

Yeah, I've done cross stitch patterns, but drawing out a costume... it's a mess.

Doesn't help. I can't get things to look on paper the way I have them in my head, but I can get it right to fabric. Suppose I could give it a try again.
