Crafty Litsters show your work!

Just grousing about the Scarf That Will Not End. I promised to work on it and have it done by the end of the month. So. Much. Yarn!

Meanwhile, my torch has cobwebs. :(

Elle,

Look up Biodynamic Farming on wikipedia. That explains the ideas. I lifted this sentence from the body of the text re: cow horns

500: (horn-manure) a humus mixture prepared by filling the horn of a cow with cow manure and burying it in the ground (40–60 cm below the surface) in the autumn. It is left to decompose during the winter and recovered for use the following spring.[36]

That may explain the horns you dig up?

But that is not rational gardening, that is modern age mumbo-jumbo!

It has very little to do with fertilizer (yes, there is a bit of nitrogen in it, but less than in a single cow-pie ) but a lot to do with magic.

Great to be able to refer to bullshit as true bullshit!

I was not advocating anything, just responding to a question.

How long is the scarf that will never end? I feel your pain. I am doing an afghan with squares and I need probably 50. I'm at 24 and have been working on it since spring.

He asked for 'around the neck and tied'. It might be a tighter tie than anticipated.

.....
I once had some one tell me I was menstruating at the wrong time of the month though because I was not menstruating when the moon was full. They assured me this was going to bring about my early demise. I leant forward and suggested quietly that maybe it was different for we werewolves.

Wonderful!
(As long as they don't look too scared and starts finding the silver bullets)

Friday I had a ball that was softball-sized. After this weekend I'm down to a lacrosse ball. Maybe 2 more days! Then I can go play with fire!!!!:D

And...it's....DONE! Whew!

He's a mountain man figure from the 1800's. Taken from a photograph. I touched him up a little with the beadwork on his sleeve which is Crow style. My client said: "he looks worried." I told him he ought to be because he has on Crow beadwork and he's in Sioux territory.

Thanks for the kind words.

Those are some beautiful pieces!
I think his expression looks like many from that time period. Determined to survive.
Love the detail on all of it. The necklace is so very beautiful.

Took a class in bone carving. Not perfect but I'm pleased with it!

I don't know anything about bone carving but that looks great, Bramblethorn! :)

Thanks all! That one was working from a template the instructor provided; I'd have preferred to design my own, but I'm a slow worker and I didn't want to keep him all day!

It's mostly filing and sanding; he roughed out the interior with a Dremel and then I tidied it up. I'd like to do it again, would need to get some tools and the right kind of workplace - don't want to be breathing bone dust!
