Cutting the Frenulum on your Tongue?

When I was a baby, my parents had mine trimmed back since I was "tongue tied". It was medically required since I was having issues eating. Also, the dr told my parents it would have caused me to having speech issues.

I don't remember what it was like. I know as a child I had an issue keeping my tongue in my mouth when I was younger. In preschool, my nickname was lizard girl or lizzie as they shorten it. As I got older, the surgery still did not prevent me from going through years of speech therapy to learn how to use my tongue correctly because the drs snipped too much.

As an adult, my tongue is something I'm now proud of because it does make me different. Also, I'd be lying if I said it didn't help me pick up girls. However, I wouldn't suggest anyone doing it themselves or by anyone else if they can avoid it.

It effects your speech (16 year of lining speech pathologist pockets - I'm sure if you slipped to far it would be even harder for an adult)
It effects your sleep. (Yes, it slides back and I cough myself awake. I sleep on my side as a general rule.)
It effects the way you eat. (I bite the damn thing all the time)

So, long tongues are cooler in theory.
