They won't cut the skin but they can bruise. And they do tighten every time you pull on them. Only once did I ever have a problem with them. My now ex-Dom pulled them so hard once when he was mad he ripped one off. That was sore for awhile.

Some of the regular ones , coated in rubber don't have the edges, so when adjusted, they just compress.. so nicely.
It's wonderful to get them just right, have a small chain to go around the back on the neck ( or maybe a collar with rings ?) so that the tension pulls them up. Then a nice lacy bra just touching the bottom and a tight stretchy top so they really stand out, ready to be played with and then drive you crazy, wanting to do anything and everything
