Do people that give your story a bad rating still read it in it's entirety?

My newest story published yesterday and almost immediately after received a 1 star rating.

The story is 7 pages long, no way they read the whole thing.

So no, they don't always bother reading the whole thing. Mine may not have read any of it. Maybe there was something in the tags they didn't like.

Who knows?

As an author, this is a topic that resonates with me. Without going into a great deal of detail. I will tell everyone that I don't rate any story unless I have read it completely. If the topic or listing it appears under offends me, I won't even read it. It's not my place to "yuck" someone's "yum" just because an act they portray or describe in their writing isn't one of my favorites. I have neither the time or desire for that. As an author, I also understand the work and the risk that accompany writing any story and posting it here, even a "BAD" one, since that is all subject to taste. With that being said, I tend to be generous with my ratings for all stories. In my eyes any story well written, regardless of the topic and my view of it deserves kudos!

Conversely does everyone who gives your story a five read it?

Real answer is yes, some will do it because they like your prior work. But this is for sure an unpopular reality
