Do women really like older men?

I don't think that's odd at all. They are looking for different types of relationships. I can't put my finger on the logic of it. I suppose there is no real logic, its all about feelings and what they have absorbed from the culture. In a relationship with a young woman, they want to feel strong and manly by being confident and in charge to some degree. If the woman is more experienced, it undermines that dynamic. In a relationship with an older woman, they can feel strong and manly just from being an object of lust to an older, experienced woman.

Yes I can see how they would seek different things from each relationship. It is interesting though how in your characterization they draw confidence from different sources with each type of woman. Being able to draw it from the lust of the older woman but not the younger one suggests a degree of ego at play and/or subscriptions to stereotypes. Which is what it is. But as I have often said young men motivated in that way often forfeit a lot of sexual opportunity by seeking to control circumstances as their source of confidence.

I suppose that in turn was also somewhat driven by their social environment. A young man dating a slut their own age was generally very self conscious about how that was regarded by his peers (hence the reason they would often be disparaging to claim some "power" in the situation). Conversely, the friends of the older men I dated all regarded him as lucky to be fucking me and the fact that I was slutty made it all the better.

Perhaps the same could be said of a young man dating an older woman. The different social groupings and focus on the physical experience seem to make the prospect that she is a slut to be more acceptable.

It is too bad that young men tend to feel that way, but it is true. It seems to come back to this notion that if she was satisfied at home she wouldn't cheat. In my view that is rooted in the fallacy that women are fundamentally different than men in this regard. Guys can understand why another guy can have an amazing girlfriend who fulfills his sexual needs yet still be tempted to cheat but somehow imagine that women can't feel the same way. I think it is a bit of a defence mechanism, because acknowledging that women can desire variety and have lots of opportunities (more so than a comparable male) to indulge that desire is very unsettling. The peer pressure that compels men towards insecurity about a promiscuous woman is part of the overall disparagement that promiscuous women experience, which comes from a place of insecurity.

Reality for me is that if I see a guy as inadequate I won't date him at all. My promiscuity is the result of my high sex drive and desire for sexual variety.
