Ok, so! New Deadliest Catch, I need to watch. I need to get caught up with Hannibal, too. The Following, I'm way behind on. The Good Wife is one that I'm keeping apace with, by some kind of miracle. I don't know why - it's the one that is the most distressing at this point. I'm trying to get in to see Captain America this week but that might be another one that waits for DVD. Really bummed about missing all the Marvel in theaters. Any summer shows you're looking forward to? Any movies? X-Men is coming up, that'll be - Wait, Bryan Singer directed that. Well, fuck.

I am almost a whole season behind on Agents of Shield... It's making me crazy that I haven't found the time to watch them even though they are sitting on my DVR. By the way... I loved The Winter Soldier.

Someone! Tie me down and...

...force me to watch the latest Game of Thrones!

Dammit, I'm all over the place today!

I haven't started it yet, Starry. Let me know how you find the first episode. I'm taking a break from binge-watching shows at the minute. I have a few queued up in my netflix, Battlestar Galactica, Justified, Reaper...

No idea where to start.

Start!

Justified!

NOW!

It's wonderfully written and acted, and doesn't get nearly the credit it deserves. So few people have seen it compared to other, inferior shows.

Truth.

I love the flow of the dialogue in the show.

Naturally paced, compelling for revealing more about the characters or plot, and always surprising or entertaining. Coudos to the writers on the show.

As SRPers we don't get to practice telling story and character through dialogue to the degree Justified does. We have to use internal monologues or straight out exposition in order to avoid controlling our partner's character. So as a writer I miss that under used piece of my toolkit. After watching an episode of Justified I feel envigorated like I had written it.

Its kinda like writing vicariously I suppose.

Okay.

I need someone to caution me when I'm watching Hannibal.

Just say: "Serps, don't eat."

I always find myself eating something whenever I watch Hannibal... I'm hardcore like that. Have you just started this season? (The ending of that first episode... just, ugh. -shudder-)

Can I call you "Pretty Snake Lady" instead of "Serps"?

Sure. You go right ahead.

winks

Games of Thrones.

Dammit Tyrion.

Why dammit?! What happened?! I haven't seen it yet!!! Aaaaarrrgh!!

Exactly. But even the beginning of the episode, I was like "WHAAAAAT IS THIS OH MY GOOOOOD".

Just got up to date with Hannibal on Sky Living.

Holy shit. Cannot wait to see what next week brings.

Game of Thrones

No real spoilers but...

For fuck's sake!! And now we have to wait...?!

Do whatever you have to...
Go where ever you have to...
KILL whomever you have to...
But do NOT see Godzilla.

What was your specific complaint about it, Vail?

((Spoiler Warning!))

My complaint was that it didn't have enough of its title character until the end. If its a movie about a giant monster I expect to see more giant monster than anything else. Instead they teased me about it for most of the movie. I didn't understand why...I already paid for my ticket so there was no need to draw it out that way until the end. I'm not saying blow the movie's wad before the film's climax, but show me more than a foot or fin or tail and then cut away from it.

I hope they fix that in the sequel.

Other than that there was the human centric side of the story that I thought was 'meh' and a lot of the performances didn't really wow me either. Then again I've never been on the Bryan Cranston bandwagon and he was the best actor of the bunch.

((Spoilers finished))
