Everything the Pubs do to block access to the polls

This hand-counting idea was only a way to delay things. Which they would not do if they had any confidence Trump could win fairly.

Voter ID laws, voter-roll purges, shutting down polling stations in poor/black neighborhoods -- ALL of it reflects their own declining confidence in their ability to win elections fairly, by convincing a majority of the public of the value of their politics and policies.
I've seen nothing at all in this thread to cast any doubt on the above.

In another decision, the Court ruled that Brawndo is what plants crave.
That film has an interesting history.

While the introductory segment comes off as a pro-eugenics propaganda piece, the majority of the film actually criticizes the culture which glorifies idiocy more than anything else. Especially Fox News parody within the film that included moobs-and-boobs co-anchors,[1] which led to the production company, Twentieth Century Fox, doing everything it could to bury the movie; eliminating the entire budget, spending nothing on advertising, then releasing it in only 6 theatres for one showing after midnight, then declaring it a flop.[2] Viacom managed to find a copy of it, and then played it on Comedy Central whenever they could.[3] It's actually not that bad.

Georgia judge rejects GOP lawsuit trying to block counties from accepting hand-returned mail ballots

ATLANTA (AP) — A Georgia judge on Saturday rejected a Republican lawsuit trying to block counties from opening election offices on Saturday and Sunday to let voters hand in their mail ballots in person.

The lawsuit only named Fulton County, a Democratic stronghold that includes most of the city of Atlanta and is home to 11% of the state’s voters. But at least five other populous counties that tend to vote for Democrats also announced election offices would open over the weekend to allow hand return of absentee ballots.

The lawsuit was filed late Friday and cited a section of Georgia law that says ballot drop boxes cannot be open past the end of advance voting, which ended Friday. But state law says voters can deliver their absentee ballots in person to county election offices until the close of polls at 7 p.m. on Election Day. Despite that clear wording, lawyer Alex Kaufman initially claimed in an emergency hearing Saturday that voters aren’t allowed to hand-deliver absentee ballots that were mailed to them.
lawyers should face fines for pulling this shit
Kaufman then argued that voters should be blocked from hand-delivering their ballots between the close of early in-person voting on Friday and the beginning of Election Day on Tuesday, even though he said it was fine for ballots to arrive by mail during that period. It has long been the practice for Georgia election offices to accept mail ballots over the counter.

in a free and fair election, no eligible voter should have to be concerned their votes won't be accepted or counted

in a democracy, the more votes (voices) being heard means a more honest representation of the public's thinking. Why would the gopers want to restrict access in a democratic stronghold? <-rhetorical question, we know why.

So? What's going to happen with all the MISTAKES in Virginia??
Now? I would list the SCrOTUS who allowed the removal of the voting rights to the list of those who should lose their rights to VOTE and to hold PUBLIC OFFICE
Voter Fraud should be a serious business!!
As is often said, Americans lost their lives to ensure the rights to vote!!

All of the approximately 1600 people who self identified as ineligible to vote were notified that they had been removed from the voter rolls. Those who are eligible can register. If they haven’t done it yet, VA has same day registration.

one of those guys had produced proof of his eligibility FIVE times and yet was still purged, others also reporting multiple times of having produced proof. Why should someone who wasn't eligible to vote in a federal election as much as 20 years before and having provided proof of citizenship since then AND having voted regularly be purged from the rolls and have their life made much more difficult?

Supreme Court rejects Republican bid to block provisional ballots in Pennsylvania

The Supreme Court rejected Republicans’ request to block Pennsylvania officials from counting provisional ballots by voters whose mail ballots are rejected for technical flaws.

In the Pennsylvania case, the state Supreme Court split 4-3 in upholding a lower court ruling that required the counting of provisional ballots submitted by voters who are told their mail ballots can’t be counted. “Provisional ballots exist as a failsafe to preserve access to the right to vote,” the state court said, noting that such ballots can only be counted if no other ballots from a voter are counted.

“The General Assembly wrote the Election Code with the purpose of enabling citizens to exercise their right to vote, not for the purpose of creating obstacles to voting,” the state court majority said.

your premise that all these 1,600 were illegally on the voter rolls and even if there weren't illegal, well, everyone has been informed, is just incorrect.

this thread is filled with links but here are a few relating just to the Virginia 1,600

The advocacy groups quoted Prince William County Registrar Eric Olsen, who said at an election board meeting Sept. 30 that his office reviewed 162 people listed as noncitizens in the state’s computer system and found that 43 had voted before. But his office checked and found that all 43 had verified their citizenship − some as many as five times − but were still dropped from voter rolls.
A Trump supporter who was purged from the rolls told Cardinal News that he suspects he forgot to mark his citizenship status on the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles form when he renewed his driver’s license.

Another voter, who showed NPR her passport, said she doesn’t know why the DMV incorrectly recorded her as a noncitizen.

Nadra Wilson was also listed as a noncitizen and was purged from Virginia’s voter rolls. Wilson told CNN she was born in the US: “I was born in Brooklyn, New York.” The 57-year-old empty nester says she’s been voting in Virginia without any problems since 2015. She had no idea why she was purged from the voter rolls.
CNN obtained access to the list of Virginia voters who were removed and called over 100. We found a variety of US citizens and noncitizens, some of whom were aware they’d been purged while others, who had not yet voted, learned the news from CNN.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. (AP) — Phoebe Taylor was all ready to vote in Tuesday’s election. She even knew her precinct number in the city of Richmond off the top of her head.

So it came as a shock when a reporter informed the naturalized U.S. citizen, originally from Great Britain, that she’d been purged from Virginia’s rolls, along with about 1,600 others in the last two months, in an attempt prevent noncitizens from casting ballots.
“It’s irritating to me,” said Taylor, 26. “I wouldn’t even have known.”

In Taylor’s case, she said she suspected that the error came about because when she first applied for a driver’s license in Virginia as a teenager, she was not yet a citizen. But she said she’s been a citizen for several years now.

so not only did a lot of the people contacted have no idea they'd been purged, it was an error that they had been. It was based on DMV records, some out of date, some based on incorrect information filled in or forgotten to be checked (like the 'citizen' box... a lot of the people caught up were young people originally from places like China or Europe, people who were here legally and eligible to vote for maybe the first time. Basing purges on unreliable information this close to the big election is madness. It should have been done months before, with plenty of warning sent to those in danger of being culled so they had plenty of time to rectify it. Of course, checks should have been made prior to sending out the warnings, to make sure the right people were being targeted.

Of the people contacted by the various news outlets, some were newer voters, some were older voters—eligible citizen voters. Others were non-citizens who had no intention of voting in a federal election, some eligible ones who weren't planning on voting but were angry that their right to vote had been revoked for no good reason, and some who had no idea how their names were appearing on the rolls in the first place. trump voters were caught up in the mistake just as Harris ones. It's a fiasco and it should never happen this close to an election.

To be clear, non-citizens are ineligible to vote. Citizen status is requested by the DMV. Those who don’t affirm their citizenship are removed from the voter rolls and notified. The purpose of the notification is to make sure that citizens who checked the wrong box, didn’t check a box, or became naturalized citizens after their DMV declaration can re-register to vote. Virginia has same day registration. The law was signed in 2006 by then governor and now Senator Tim Kaine. Nobody in Virginia has been disenfranchised or had their vote suppressed by Governor Kaine’s law.

Polling places are pretty much locally-controlled.

So, the claim that they are turning THEIR voters away somewhat falls flat on its face.

Current Virginia Governor Youngkin is purging voter rolls within 90 days of the election purely as a publicity stunt, despite it being illegal.

He couldn’t care less if citizens are purged. BabyBoo also couldn’t care less if citizens are purged. The publicity stunt is all that matters. 😆

As BabyBoo stated, “non-citizens are ineligible to vote.” Always have been. There was no reason to purge the registration tools right before the election … except that Youngkin is hilariously desperate for attention.

Noncitizens cannot vote. Sorry, but that’s the law. You’ll just have to deal with it.

Exactly. Noncitizens never could vote and never have.

Youngkin’s illegal purge of the voter registration rolls with 90 days of the election was simply a publicity stunt by a laughably pathetic man desperate for attention. Deal with it. 😆

SCOTUS has dealt with it. 👍👍

And now some of them have been removed from the voter rolls in Virginia. 👍👍

And citizens have been removed from the voter rolls in Virginia. Does that get 2 thumbs up too? 😄

There are only 2 possible reasons why Republican Governor Youngkin didn’t maintain the voter rolls during the legal period outside of 90 days to the election:
A: his administration is incompetent
B: he’s desperate for publicity.

So, is Youngkin incompetent or pathetically desperate for attention? 😆
