Favorite movie quotes

Same! It’s one of my favs, for that and so many other reasons.
Wow, that's an intense favorite!

Let's see about this one:

- Hello Rom
- I waited years...
- How, how many years?
- By now it must be…
- It's 23 years, 4 moths, 8 days..
(soul crushing silence)

Omgs Interstellar - I gotta watch that one again soon!

How about another classic:

“An idea is like a virus. Resilient. Highly contagious. And even the smallest seed of an idea can grow. It can grow to define or destroy you”

You pompous, stuck-up, snot-nosed, English, giant, twerp, scumbag, fuck-face, dickhead, *asshole*!
Now let me correct you on a couple of things, OK? Aristotle was not Belgian. The central message of Buddhism is not "Every man for himself." And the London Underground is not a political movement. Those are all mistakes, Otto. I looked them up.

Apes don't read philosophy!

I know this opinion might be highly unpopular with a lot of people, but to me Interstellar was far superior to Inception!

Visually Inception is really good, no doubt, but Interstellar has something that few films can even come close to matching, apart from the good storytelling and the superb visuals: its scientific base is hard-core rock solid, even when being speculative! And when you're a scientist yourself, that's a pretty big plus! :p

Ilsa: You have been given the honor of sleeping with a German woman, an officer of the SS!

Ilsa: Once a prisoner has slept with me, he will never sleep with a woman again! If he lives, there is only the pain of the knife.
Prisoner: The knife?
Ilsa: To castrate!
Prisoner: No... no please!
Ilsa: Proceed!
Prisoner: No, commandant -- no, not any more -- no commandant. NO! NOOOOOOO!

Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS 1975

"Most effective, Your Majesty! Will you destroy this, er, Earth?"

"Later. I like to play with things a while... before annihilation."

This is Maverick, requesting fly-by.
Negative, Ghost Rider. The pattern is full.
*Zoomies ensue*
Goddamn that guy.

[the deputy is holding one of the school's girls at gunpoint as Billy Jack approaches]
Deputy: Now you drop that gun or I'll shoot her!
Deputy: [long pause] I'm not gonna ask you again.
Billy Jack: You won't have to.
Deputy: What?
Billy Jack: I said shoot her.
Deputy: [cocks revolver] You'd kill her? just like that?
Billy Jack: [shakes his head] You'll kill her.
[points his rifle]
Billy Jack: And then I'll kill you. Just like that.

Billy Jack 1971 (a reboot from Born Loser or a sequel that isn't set in the same place, your choice)

Drax from Guardians who only speaks "literally"

"Nothing goes over my head. My reflexes are too good, I'd catch it!"

If we're wrong, we go to jail - peacefully, quietly. We'll enjoy it. But if I'm right, and we can stop this thing, Lenny, you will have saved the lives of millions of registered voters.

I honestly don’t remember either one in enough detail to have intelligent input on them to any extent, although I do recall being thoroughly absorbed in both. They both surprised me very much, which for me is crucial - I usually hate predictable plots - and Interstellar made me weep, iirc.

I also recall someone else saying the same as you about the scientific verisimilitude, although I am not a scientist and therefore unqualified to judge that. I am a huge fan-girl of particle and theoretical and Astrophysics though, so I’m DEFINITELY rewatching Interstellar soon. 😊

Now those are some very peculiar, not to mention interesting, tastes for a non-scientist ;)

"God loves a terrier
yes he does
God loves a terrier
that's because
brown sturdy bright and true
they give their hearts to you
God didn't miss a stitch
be it dog or be it bitch
when he made the Norwich merrier
with his cute little 'derrier'
yes God loves a terrier!"

Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara from Best In Show
