On finding a good Dom
I can only speak from my experience as limited as it is, but my advice to you is twofold:
1) Keep trying to find an experienced Dom through all the ways that have been mentioned. You'll eventually find someone.
2) Find a vanilla guy you really like and slowly introduce him to a little of what you would like. I had been married in a Vanilla lifestyle for 12 years before my wife bought me SM101 and then a little later Screw the Roses Give Me the Thorns. It quickly snowballed after that and now she is a happily collared sub and I am a happy Dom. Sometimes you don't know about these tendencies until someone coaxes them out of you.
As to why there might be more female subbies especially here, women are better comunicators (on average) than guys. This forum seems to attract people who genuinely want to communicate. Therefore more females than males.
