Okay...I'm new to Lit site, but this is a common discussion around my house. While I don't have many fetishes, I do understand the reason that fetishes are fetishes. The feet thing...because having your feet touched, massaged, or even licked and sucked is physically pleasurable. Still, I'm not comfortable with the whole cleanliness thing, so... Smoking? I AM a smoker and this one I don't get either. I can't stand second hand smoke myself. Incest? Understandable on a theoretical & psychological level...Two people meet, fall in love, have a family...the things they loved about their partner, they see in the offspring. I get it, just for that reason. Things I absolutely don't get? Choking, infants, scat, violence, (I mean things that cause actual physical harm here), latex, and the entire fascination for anime! (I outgrew my fascination for comics when I was about 4 years old I think) Being a hetero female, I don't 'get' lesbianism, but I have nothing against girl on girl...it just doesnt do anything for me. *nods* couldn't agree more. Another one that surprised me because I had never even considered the possibility I guess, smoking. I knew he looked at women online and even though I wasn't crazy about it, I looked the other way but this simply didn't make sense to me. I had to ask and he admitted that a woman smoking aroused him more than just about anything. Who knew? I agreed to do it occasionally for him if he'd promise never to look at that again. So far I think he's kept his word and I've kept mine. Maybe fetishes and the effect they can have on us will never really be understood.

I think the smoking thing is about the visual of a woman who is a bit wild and doesn't give a damn what others think. Men are used to women who have more rules and limitations than they do. Anything that presents us as willing to pursue our own pleasure without the usual societal expectations and constraints suggests a more aggressive sexuality that titillates and frightens at the same time. At least that is my theory. In reality of course it is just a disgusting habit (full disclosure I quit 10 years ago but still crave it).

There are aspects of cuckoldry that I don't get. But I think the main theme for some men is the idea of a woman who has a driving desire for sex.

Men tend to exist in relationships where they want us to want only them but also have a strong sex drive. I think that as they mature they realize that a woman who truly enjoys sex does think about other men - to think otherwise is kind of a silly delusion. Meanwhile those relationships age and get a bit boring and it starts to seem as though maybe she doesn't like sex that much after all.

A hot wife on the other is by her nature very interested in sex. That is very appealing to men when they mature past the point of just being happy to have sex of any kind. That last part is key - men get to a point where it matters that their partner is enjoying herself at about the point that a lot of women move into their sweat pants. Being with a woman who really enjoys sex becomes more important than keeping her all to himself.

I don't think period sex qualifies as a fetish, does it? Well, maybe to some...but, most women won't let you near them during...I was different in that respect. I knew women who went to bed for the entire duration of their period. My monthly never kept me from doing anything I wanted to do. If I got pms and cramps...I had a couple of male friends who I would call and as someone posted earlier, the sex made the headaches, cramps and other symptoms go away.
