For Those Who Might Be Wondering Why We Might Be In Ukraine

More than just one position. From the article:

"Zelensky fired a slew of senior officials at the start of the year over a scandal linked to the procurement of wartime supplies; the country’s deputy defense minister resigned after facing allegations of corruption; then in August, Zelensky dismissed all officials in charge of regional military recruitment centers, citing numerous ongoing criminal proceedings."

This was at the beginning of the war one of the most corrupt nations on earth. Everyone but you and yours knew this.
Was he right to switch out the positions?

I don't know if we have enough facts yet to say. It may have been too little and too late. Zelensky himself may be corrupt and his government was known to the world to be one of the most corrupt governments in Europe. Remember why Bursima hired Hunter in the first place. They needed protection from prosecution. Here is a NBC News video on the history of corruption in Ukraine from 2019:

Shocker of a pivot.

You seriously have a one track mind

Ukraine’s New Defense Minister, Rustem Umerov, Is Already Under Investigation for Corruption: Sources

By Paul Serran Sep. 8, 2023 11:00 am

In the aftermath of Ukraine’s failed counteroffensive, President Volodymyr Zelensky decided to replace Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov, who was mired in multiple accusations of corruption in his Ministry.

This comes as Kiev needs to demonstrate to the Western powers that finance the country that the democratic institutions are alive and well – even though it is unclear whether elections will take place.

Zelensky couldn’t get his first pick choices for substitute, because some applicants wanted to take their own teams to the Ministry. By choosing the head of the State Property Fund (SPF), Rustem Umarov, he felt he made a safe and loyal choice.

So it comes as a bit of a shock to find out that, less than a week after he was appointed, Umarov and the foundation he ran are said to already be under investigation by the Ukrainian authorities.

More here: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/09/ukraines-new-defense-minister-rustem-umerov-is-already/

Kind of demonstrates how out of touch Zelensky is with his government as well as the depth of corruption in Ukraine.

How Bad Is It For Ukraine?

By Larry Johnson Sep. 3, 2023 7:00 am

Let me explain why I have spent so much effort on highlighting the commentary and analysis of retired U.S. Generals and some of their foreign counterparts, like Mick Ryan — they are engaged in a massive propaganda campaign designed to mislead the Western public about the true state of the war in Ukraine. They insist that Ukraine is winning, that Russia is losing and that the only prescription for Ukraine’s continued “success” is to pour more money and weapons into the maelstrom consuming Ukraine. This is not a disagreement over what is the best flavor of ice cream. The citizens of the United States and Europe have a right to be properly informed about their resources that are being recklessly expended in Ukraine and that there is no path for victory for Ukraine because Ukraine lacks the material resources, the trained manpower and the weapons required to match up against Russia. Even if Ukraine was endowed suddenly with three fighter wings (that’s about 180 combat planes), these would not be enough to penetrate and destroy Russia’s echeloned defenses.

Take a hard look at this map. The green shows how far Ukrainian forces have advanced over the last three months of their counter offensive. This minuscule “progress” has cost Ukraine an enormous toll in casualties and equipment, such as tanks and armored personnel carriers. Skeptics in the West want to dismiss this as Russian propaganda. Okay. The please show me the reports from Western war correspondents who are on the ground reporting from Topmak or Melitopol. Those do not exist. How about a video or two of triumphant Ukrainian fighters standing atop the wreckage of the first line of the Surovikin defense? Ukraine and its NATO allies would be giddy with joy if they could show such images.

If you want to gauge the desperation of the Ukrainian situation, just read this interview with Polish volunteer who just returned to Poland from the front:

The slaughter continues...

And what is the point of the slaughter? Putin has given us many.....are any of them valid? No

Winning for Ukraine means returning to the 2013 borders, which includes taking full control of Crimea.

Winning for Russia doesn't mean taking over all of Ukraine (as western propaganda seems to make out), but controlling the Black Sea coastal areas, especially if they can have land running directly from Russia proper all the way to Transnistria/Moldova. Such a thing would mean that Ukraine becomes landlocked and that the Ukrainian government and its far right battalions basically becomes the EU's problem.

These are the cold, hard facts. Western propaganda hysteria doesn't alter these facts, especially if they are going to keep throwing money and weapons at Ukraine to no positive result.

Zelensky has made that clear. Ukraine wants their country back....all of it.

Who defined what "winning for Russia" means as you suggest here? Please provide the specific quote and person making that quote.

Don't expect billionaire owned western media to report it. If Ukraine is landlocked, what use is it to the US warmongers?

I asked you specifically to provide it, since you obviously have the inside scoop.
All you need to understand is that capitalists wage war for profit, not for morality. What use would a landlocked Ukraine be to the US militarists? Why would the latter keep throwing money and weapons into Ukraine indefinitely?

Russia will keep the Russian-speaking provinces east of the Denieper, possibly take Odesa, and maintain control of Crimea. NATO will not be allowed to place its military forces on the Russian southern border any more than we would tolerate a Chinese or Russian base on our border in Mexico. Unless NATO wants nuclear war Ukraine cannot be a member.

At this point, Ukraine is a massive human loss for Ukraine and a massive financial loss for the West. We have to realize if anyone is left alive in Ukraine they will expect us to rebuild their country in the coming years.

That's the crazy world that NATO seems to live in. They almost forget that Russia is nuclear armed.

The "environmentalism" talk of the Democrats is also absurd when they are building up another Cold War like situation against Russia and China. No serious fighting of climate change worldwide can exclude Russia and China, especially as the Chinese have basically cornered most of the world market in green tech. The way I see it, the future is either going to be of the US ruling class following "national security interests" (i.e. fighting China) or of fighting climate change, but they cannot do both. The Republicans make no secret of wanting to go the "national security" route, while the Democrats pretend that they can do both but will ultimately too go the "national security" route, blindly following the short-term profit motives of US corporations.

I think a big problem is our media, who have not told us the truth about any of this from the very beginning. The media seems all in for a war against Russia. Europe does not want a ground war in Europe. The US. are not ready for a ground war in Europe.

Nato is made up of 31 nations, a political herd of cats, all of whom have to vote in favor of evoking Article V. I don't see it happening even if the Russians shoot down one of the British fighters who are now being tasked with protecting grain ships in the Black Sea. There may be some hotheads in Lithuania and Poland who might want to restore some of their lost historical homeland but I don't see a majority ready to fuel their repressed parochial desires anytime soon.:)

I understand that you're making up shit and are backtracking. Russia wants to take all of Ukraine for itself. Ukraine wants to keep all of Ukraine for Ukraine.

We are more than ready for a ground war in Europe you goof, especially if we're on the defense not the offense. I swear you never seem to know shit about which you speak.

Tell me exactly how many actual U.S. trigger pullers are on the ground in Europe. Show me you know what you're talking about. I'm not talking about headquarters formations either. I'm talking about actual combatants.

Huh?

Cheeto slurps Putin so do you?

Got it.

The only thing you "got" is a turd for a brain and an asshole for a mouth. Go tell mom you need to be wiped.
So… you have no idea what you are talking about. Got it.

Just repeating the wrong-wing talking points. We can just call you wrong parrot.

I know exactly what I'm talking about, but you don't. You fart a lot.

Backtracking? On what?

Russia wants to take all of Ukraine for itself.
Maybe in the very early part of the war, but not since. It's actually better for Russia not to occupy the whole of Ukraine, firstly because holding down a hostile local population is a constant drain, secondly because the Euromaidan Ukrainian regime becomes a problem for the EU and NATO.

Ukraine wants to keep all of Ukraine for Ukraine.
You've got your tenses wrong. Ukraine has currently lost control of Crimea, nearly all the Black Sea coast and nearly all the Donbass. The Minsk Accords, which Ukraine and NATO showed complete contempt for, would have only seen Russian control in Crimea and the continued existence of the Lugansk and Donetsk Republics in the Donbass, with Ukraine maintaining control of all the Black Sea coast outside Crimea. That's all gone for Ukraine now.

Huh?

Cheeto slurps Putin so do you?

Got it.
There's nobody left in Ukraine to join the armed forces enthusiastically. They all joined a long time ago, and a lot of them are dead. A terrible waste of lives, the pointlessness of it has parallels with WW1.
