Ukraine's president has faced increasing criticism since the failure of the summer counteroffensive.

As Ukraine heads into a harsh winter without having significantly driven back the Russian invasion this year, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appears to have lost much of the phenomenal public trust he earned in the war's first year.

According to new data from the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, where Zelenskyy was trusted by 84% of Ukrainians this time last year, the figure is now 62%, with 18% telling the institute they do not trust him.

This is still a towering figure in his favour, but it puts him well behind the Ukrainian military, which is trusted by 96% of the public – the exact same level of support it enjoyed a year ago.

In its analysis, the institute points out that aside from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, all public institutions have lost a noticeable amount of public trust, some of them experiencing a dramatic change.

NATO was originally focused mainly in Western Europe because Russia was over there, but I didn’t see anything about limiting defense to the European arena since an attack against one member was an attack against them all.

We'll lose a lot more than a surveillance drone if Biden pushes this into a direct engagement between NATO and the Russians. The Russians have warned the West but our media doesn't fully articulate that to our people so many are in the dark about what might happen if we make a mistake and push them too far. We, the United States, are not prepared for a ground war in Europe with the Russians, therefore NATO is not prepared for a war with the Russians in Europe. We are years from being ready.

The Russians have warned the West but our media doesn't fully articulate that to our people so many are in the dark about what might happen if we make a mistake and push them too far. We, the United States, are not prepared for a ground war in Europe with the Russians, therefore NATO is not prepared for a war with the Russians in Europe. We are years from being ready.

Russia invaded Ukraine specifically to get to NATO....or did the whole "we can't have NATO on our doorstep" or " Ukraine can't join NATO " stuff make that less obvious?
