Foreskin should I keep it or cut it? Help me decide.

Re: To cut.. or not to cut..

Wear it away.... may take some time.. but the results are worth it...

That's kind of how I wound up getting cut, at the age of 22. I was in the Air Force at the time. Had sex with a gal in Dallas Texas. She insisted on my using a rubber, that's what we called them then, LOL. Anyway, she supplied it and it was dry or she put it on me wrong or something. When we finished, and I withdrew, the condom had not only my cum in it, but some blood also.

I has somehow managed to create a small tear in the foreskin. Well, the darn thing wouldn't heal up. All of you probably know that a male normally gets erections while he sleeps. If you didn't, now ya know. :) The small cut would not heal because every nite the erection would re-open it. The doctor said the only thing to to was get a circumcision. I liked to fainted at that suggestion. But, I had no other option, so I had it done. Surprisingly, while I was in the hospital, there were 3 other guys there having the same thing done. Found out it wasn't that unusual for an adult male to have it done. Up until then I had never even thought about it.

Afterwards, and I was only in the hospital for about a week, and really the uncomfortable part lasted only about 3 days, I found that there were two things diffeent. It was a little cleaner being cut, and there was a difference in the sensitivity.

I don't know that I would have had it done if it had not been necessary, but if for some reason any of you guys out there have to get it cut, it really isn't something that's not bearable.

Not that it's anything like having a baby, ladies, but similiar to what I've heard about that, it's a pain that is forgotten.

In other words I know it hurt for awhile, but I don't really remember it now.

Boy do I get long winded sometimes. :D Better shut up.

its a very personal choice and one you shouldnt take lightly. i have heard in RL before and now on this thread that it is very painful for a man to go through. I never had any sons, but my husband and I would have chosen to cut. Just cuz that is what he as a man feels best doing. So I agreed. But thank goodness we didnt have to make that decision.

Good luck with your decision and just make sure it is the best thing for YOU!

Thanks all

I fell much better now thanks to all of you. The replies have made me think much on this and Ive decided that I will stay as I am and if some women dont like it tough. I shouldnt have got so rattled on this issue and its not like me and all of you have shown this to me. Thanks again:heart:

Do what you want. No one can decide that one, but you. Either way, be happy. Sounds like a painful operation to me.

I see the korr has decided to leave the foreskin, and that's a smart thing. All the important arguments have been listed, so I don't need to do it again.

Well, since I'm European, I was wondering why circumcision is so common in America? Does anyone know the background?

Oh, and if you keep it on, you'll have a longer dick : )

I know a man who had his foreskin removed at age 25
and he said it was very painful. sometimes its good
to get it removed for health reasons.....but the decision
is up to you...I wish you the best of luck in whatever
you end up doing :)

First off, let me speak for most men...DAMN! This is even painful to read!!

As to the origins, I suspect that the Bible has a lot to do with it. America was founded, and dedicated to the Lord. In Biblical times it became customary to remove the foreskin of male children to show their comitment to Christianity. The practice was continued in this country. For right or wrong, for centuries Americans have continued the tradition, most not even knowing why.
I was cut just after birth, as were most in those days, (1958), and I have never given it much thought...until I worked in an Army hospital and saw it done.
When my son had his foreskin removed, I was NOT at the hospital...I hurt for him, but could not be there. I would not have even agreed to the procedure if my wife and her family were not so adamnant.
My older brother, not american but adopted, is un cut and recently asked me if I thought he should have his removed. My answer...NO! NO! NO! NO!

The one thing i actually learned in high school....hee hee

Now I am not a man, and I don't know from personal experience, but my 11th grade sex ed teacher quoted a study that was done on european olympic athletes in good shape and health and in their 20s-30s, who saw the american men in the locker room, thought that a circumsized cock looked nicer and cleaner and all that... so decided to get cut when they got back to europe... they ended up reporting a 50% reduction in orgasmic sensation (which kind of contradicts what some other personal experiences have stated in this thread).... so my vote is:

NONONONONONO!

cut

do not cut- you will be more sensitive for a while but constant friction with fabric will desensitize it.
