I can't help it, I'm addicted to baseball and the red sox.

being addicted to the red sux is a lot like being addicted to heroin... the more you use it, the less good it does... so you have to keep using more and it becomes even MORE useless. :D :D :D

no shit, huh. I'm getting real nervous here. I scored some tickets to tonight's game at fenway and am taking one of my sons with me (he's also a sox fanatic.) He doesn't know it yet (I just got them this morning); I'm gonna pick him up after school and we'll go from there. We'll be about 20 to 25 rows directly behind the sox dugout.

Problem is, just the 2 of us together have never been to a game the sox have won. We've been to other games where my wife and daughter were with us, or me and all 3 kids went and they have won, but not just the 2 of us. I'm not sure if this is good or not. We haven't been to a game together since last season, so I'm not sure if all our bad luck was wiped away when the world tilted on its axis last October.

Originally my wife was going to go with me (we've been to a lot of games together and she has never seen them lose in person) but she knows how much my son would love to go.

I'm stressing bigtime.

it's amazing how superstitious baseball fans can be... i have all sorts o' crap i do at home during the postseason with my hats and balls and various yankee memoribilia to help them win.

maybe we should bring the framed picture with us.....

only if you hang it crooked... and in front of your eyes so you don't see the massacre. ;)

OK, that's it. I've had enough abuse from you.

If you can get the game on satellite (spelling?) look for the guy holding the sign that says: EJFan: Fuck You! ;)

LOL!

i don't know what games will be aired here... but if they're on espn or something like that i'll be watching. given the state of the division, not to mention the rivalry, PLUS that it's a weekend, i'm sure they'll all be on somethin' i get here.

btw... i heard that curt schilling's foot wasn't really injured last year... i heard that his wife actually had to use his sock as a tampon and that's how it got all fucked up like that. :nana:

I hated to see them let Bellhorn go, cuz he seems like a nice guy, but man he strikes out a lot.

babe ruth struck out a lot too... probably why they let HIM go. ;)

Scalywag said:
man, you never quit, do you?

I suspect there were a lot of other reasons, too.

why should i quit? there's so much material for makin' fun o' the red sux, don'tcha think?

think of it this way... if i continue to be a blow-hard about it, and your guys win, you can REALLY stick it to me. of course, this is about as likely as a chunk o' skylab crashing through my roof in the next 10 minutes but hey.

you never said... you on for the streaking wager?

Scalywag said:
wager....I'm kind of at a handicap right now. if things even up tonight (although small is pitching and he hasn't lost a game yet - jinx attempt here) then I'll go for the wager.

well the wager was made when it WAS tied... it's not my fault you're slow to respond up there, doinkers. ;)

EJ /really/ wants you to streak, apparently. ;)

what do you know? you're stuck in hockey-land. don't make me come up there and kick you in your canadian bacon.

Hell, I just wanna see streaking. I don't care who's doing it. I'm easy that way.

I'm gonna say good night to you fine folks so I can take another hot bath. Probably sans sex this time. Try not to miss me too much (who am I again?).

Agreed.

Lets talk about how I somehow manage to have no nail polish. I always borrowed my sisters, /always/. And now that I am without sisters, its quite disturbing how I have none of my own. Yet, I only get the urge to paint my nails once a month or so, and therefore don't really think buying nail polish is worth it. Plus, theres no way I could commit to just a color, I'd have to go and buy multiple colors. Like, a /ton/ of colors. And that would be way complicated and probably expensive.

See, isn't that way more interesting?

and don't forget that you need emory boards & nail polish remover--no sense putting polish on ugly nails, after all...

er...

no! that's not at all interesting!

you know, the thing about being married is that you learn a lot of stuff you would never otherwise know.

let's talk football, damn it!

Same thing with dating - I know way more sci-fi random facts than I should - /way more/.

Football as in futball as in soccer?

Or football as in american football as in Yay Patriots?
