~~Haiku River~~

rain
ripples on the river
wet stone sinks

(man these are making me think hard. it took me 2 hours thinking to get this far whilst driving a taxi this morning.)

i must not have understood after all. i thought we were meant to take a word from the previous poster's poem and use it in the next one. lol

clash is such a great verb!

yes it is for the most part, but we can't always so that shouldn't stop us. How do you follow a great line like... a wet stone sinks <grin

wet stones
sitting patiently awaiting
to be seen

river rock polished
time and flow are true jewelers
that brings its beauty

well, i was wondering the same with 'musical mesh' - then i realised it is only one word that needs to be 'borrowed' - but i'm still thinking about it because the kind of Haiku i'm writing, there are certain words i can't use. *smile*

...there's a lot of thinking goes on with this form poetry lark eh? ;)

Ill say,

my favorite.

I saw the moon
in a dew drop
hanging from a crane's bill

by a monk in the 1400's

i haven't read enough to have a favourite yet. :)

there's too many i like...

jthserra has one he's quoted on his Kireji essay that i read yesterday...

I stop to listen;
the cricket
has done the same.
Arizona Zipper (2. pg 327)

makes me want to get on my knees and beg my cicadas to stop and listen.
